Real, please tell me that that screenshot did not come from Sarah Palin's "hatebook" page. Please. I cannot believe what I am seeing. Who does that heartless bitch who said that a girl born on 9/11/01 would probably grow up to be a "left wing bleeding-heart liberal" think she is? Good God.

Yes, it did. Several of us watched Palin's page for varying chunks of time, because her hired crew of Palin-exalting moderators were having a hard time keeping the page clear of anti-Palin messages that were coming in at a rate of about 100 an hour. A British blogger caught the "grow up to be a liberal" post and made the screenshot.
Someday, chi1dren, this entire fuck-up will be yours.

I thought I was arguing with Pedonbio, but it seems that he is doing a better job of explaining my point than I am.

So, here's a cartoon that I came across today:

rtpoe

The snapping of pitch from a burning log,
The faint scent of pine filling the room.
Flames leaping about as if it were a ballet
Performing for its audience.
The soft, comforting glow of candlelight,
Bringing with it serenity and quiet thoughts.

The reason for the 25th amendment was to clarify the ambiguous language in the main text of the USC that dealt with either the death or removal of a sitting president from office. It was implemented to ensure a clear line of succession was established so that the office of the president, and in particular the vice president, could be filled without having to resort to a national general election.

In addition it resolved two other questions: what to do when a sitting president was incapacitated for a period of time, such as occurred during President Wilson's time in office. And the other question was who would assume the office of the president should the current president and vice-president both be incapable of assuming the office. (A real possibility of concern at the time given the event that triggered the need to clarify the line of presidential succession.)

It was first proposed after the assignation of President Kennedy and finally ratified in 1967. The first time it was invoked was when President Nixon resigned from office and Vice-president Ford assumed the office of the president. President Ford in turn nominated Nelson Rockefeller to fill the vacant office of the Vice-president.

Remember when Reagan was shot, and Alexander Haig committed the Freudian slip of saying "I am in control, here, in the White House"? He never lived that one down. And Sarah Palin should never live this one down:

Politico: "Palin charges critics with 'blood libel'"
Quote
...Palin’s use of the charged phrase "blood libel" - which refers to the anti-Semitic accusation from the Middle Ages that Jews killed Christian children to use their blood to make matzoh for Passover - touched off an immediate backlash.

"The blood libel is something anti-Semites have historically used in Europe as an excuse to murder Jews – the comparison is stupid. Jews and rational people will find it objectionable," said Hank Sheinkopf, a New York-based Democratic political consultant and devout Jew. "This will forever link her to the events in Tucson. It deepens the hole she's already dug for herself… It's absolutely inappropriate."

Like Chenney shooting a lawyer, somehow, the public will owe her an apology.
"Yesterday, Reince Priebus called this whole story a 'nothing burger,'" he said. "Well these emails have turned it into an all-you-can-prosecute buffet."

You're right, mastert. Let's hope the voting public finally realize that she and people of her ilk have only their money on their mind and not the best interests of their supporters.

"So let me get this straight.

Twenty people were gunned down at a supermarket in Arizona on Saturday. Six were killed, including a nine-year-old girl. Fourteen others were wounded, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was the main target of the attack, and who was shot through the head. She is currently lying in a hospital bed with half of her skull removed because brain swelling from her bullet wound could kill her.

Twenty people shot.

Six killed.

Fourteen wounded.

And guess what?

It appears Sarah Palin is the principal victim of the shooting.

No, really.

Don't believe me? Watch the video she posted to her **24** page. There she sits, in front of a fireplace and beside an American flag like some cruel joke on Franklin Delano Roosevelt, wreathing herself in pity because people are coming to the conclusion that politicians like her - the ones who have spent the last two years talking about guns and civil war and reloading and such - should bear some of the blame for what happened in Arizona...

Poor, poor Sarah.

Before you start spluttering and staggering in an attempt to comprehend the sheer galactic magnitude of this new round of idiocy - "Who the what the where the when the why the how the what?!" was my initial response - stop a second and remember that this is how people like Sarah Palin operate. This is how they get others to follow them. They make themselves out to be victims, and convince their followers that they, too, are victims.

Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Savage, O'Reilly and the rest of the right-wing media machine have turned professional victimhood into a license to print money, and people like Sarah Palin are all too happy to jump on that bandwagon. You're losing your country, your rights, your guns, your family, your religion, the sanctity of your marriage, the supremacy of your heterosexuality, my God, you're losing Christmas, for the love of God! You're losing everything (...psssst...they're talking to White Christians when they say this stuff, by the way, which just cracks me all the way up...), and if you don't "take up arms" to stop it, well, it will just make the Baby Jesus weep bitter, bitter tears...."

I try to use language correctly.

Palin insists on referring to herself as a "momma grizzly".

There has long been a universally accepted term for female bears: A sow.

Wouldn't surprise me if Sarah has never heard that one P. ::)

But my question is where she came up with that "blood libel" phrase?  ???

I mean seeing how she is so well read that she would pick up such a rather obscure anti-semitic idiom to use in a speech where she is trying to defend herself from her critics boggles my mind.  ::)

Then again perhaps her husband is some long lost descendant of one of the tribes of Israel.  :-\

I admit, I had never heard of the term 'blood libel' until Palin used it. Maybe here is where she first heard of it.
