Looking at that Ann Richards list of traits of "good" Republicans, the one about government programs brought something to mind I read recently regarding Repub Minnesota Rep Michele "we're running out of rich people in this county" Bachmann being on the public dole.
Here's one link about it.
TruthDig: Michele Bachmann: Welfare Queen
And here's another.
The Week: Michele Bachmann: 'Welfare queen'?

Now as the articles point out Michele isn't the only politician in either party to take such government program hand-outs, but given that she has railed on more than one occasion about farm subsidies and other such hand-outs as "socialism", why would you publicly state such things when it is so easy to be shown that you don't practice what you preach. ??? ::)

Basic Economics 101 -

The stated goal is more jobs for more workers?  The other stated goal is to tax the wealthy to death?
The two are at odds with each other.

Indulging in class envy, wanting the wealthy to be taxed to death, only means fewer jobs. It is the wealthy who own and operate businesses and who expand their businesses; hire more workers; make more money for everyone.  Anyone in such a free society as the USA operates can become wealthier, even filthy rich, by hard work and by working smart.  The society provides the opportunity.  You make the choice.

I am dying, dying, to see Paul Giamatti play Beck.  Perhaps on SNL opposite Tina Fey's Sarah Palin.
That's a good call. Jason Sudeikis does a good job but Giamatti would definitely nail it looks-wise.

that's simple as can be.  rich canadians choose to cross the border to the us for services because the us has great health care for the rich.

the us has bigger population centres able to better sustain competitive pro sports teams because of the available fan base.  still for a plethora of reasons free agents choose to sign in places like calgary, toronto, montreal and vancouver over columbus, charlotte, miami and atlanta all the time.

when was the last time canadians were arrested trying to break into a foreign country? lol

you and you surrogate opinion almost made an actual point though.
===========================================================

Though I don't usually respond to these, you made me LOL with your contradiction!

You admit that Canadians cross the border for American health care.

Then you claim that no Canadians are crossing the border, breaking into a foreign country?   :D

Which is it?  :D
===========================================================

Thousands convene to protest Obama policies last April in Chicago.  No coverage was presented on the USA state controlled media, i.e., NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC.

Get most of your news from television and all you'll know is what the anchorette info babes (& guys) spin your way! (Maddow, Costello, Sawyer, Brzezinski, Mitchell, Scarborough,etc.  )

 Get most of your news from television comics (Behar, O'Donnell, Stewart, Colbert, Sharpton, Letterman, Maher, Whoopi, etc.) and all you'll know is sarcasm and mordacity.

you dont usually respnd?  no shit? haha

lol, no contraciction whatsoever.  like i said, no one is "breaking in" anywhere.  rich canadians are welcomed with open arms to spend their money in a healthcare system that caters to the rich.  the "sneaking" now must be done by middle class americans who want to get canadian drugs that dont cost an arm and a leg, thanks to the fda crackdown on protecting us drug profits.

doesnt mean canadians, finns, swedes, british, australians, and any number of citizens from countries with as high or higher quality of life are trying to break into the united states.  it just means your government are shills for the insurance and drug manufacturing industries, assuring the rich are top priority.

i had to spend half a month in the hospital last december, and every day im thankful that i was in my mothers rather than my fathers country.  because i am not rich.

pretty simple, but once again good try at making an actual point. maybe you should stick to letting quotes from other people do that lol.

Being the de facto bartender, I assure you drinks are served to all guests at all times, provided they pay their respects to the establishment. What's your drink of choice, my good sir Real? ;)

All questions directed to the bartender will be answered on an "as-capable" basis, and believe me, I will return to speak upon this point, specifically since the premise of "War=Bad" spits in the faces of those who have been freed as a result of our successful efforts (according to Joe Biden, that is). Beyond that, if you're so concerned about the war's "deficit spending", you might want to converse with a certain black president who's planning to spend $1.5 Trillion in deficits per year into the foreseeable future. ::)

WTF?

Well, if Joe Biden said it, it must be true. ::)

Quote from: Good ol' Joe
I'm very optimistic about -- about Iraq, and this can be one of the great achievements of this administration.  You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the, uh, end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government.
