And to respond to that story....

There was an election within living memory that had a lot of similarities with today. A bitterly divided country, with no incumbent trying for re-election. In the Democratic primaries, the darling of the young fell out early. The eventual nominee was a career politician, who, despite having an impeccable record, was linked to an unpopular war and was considered just another corrupt politician. The Republicans nominated a candidate who talked tough and traded on people's fears. He was equally hated by the liberal youth as the Democratic candidate. Given that both were seen as awful, young voters stayed home.

Nixon won - http://www.vox.com/2016/9/21/12987108/sanders-clinton-nixon-humphrey

A study of the results shows that a difference as little as switching 42,000 votes in three states would have been enough to move the election to the House of Representatives, where if things followed party lines, Humphrey would have become president. Or 154,000 votes in four states makes Humphrey president without sending it to the House - http://uselectionatlas.org/USPRESIDENT/GENERAL/pe1968whatif.html

Think very, Very, VERY carefully before voting for Johnson or Stein - or staying home.

And if I can quote at length from a couple of blogs:

"The Moron’s Case For Hillary Clinton…because some of you really are that stupid." - The Contrarian Blog

"There are only 2 candidates who stand any mathematical chance of prevailing in this year’s election and one of them is, in fact, eminently qualified to become the 45th President of the United States, perhaps more so than any of the other 44 previous office holders. She (that’s right…SHE) has been dedicated to public service in one capacity or another since 1971.  Her accomplishments are tremendous.

"The other candidate who is supposedly “equally bad” is a real estate developer and television personality who was born into a family whose wealth has been estimated to exceed $300 million and makes racism, sexism, misogyny, nihilism and ultra-nationalism the pillars of his candidacy.

"We all know that trustworthiness is important in a President. But if absolutely no slack is given at all, and I mean none, if this is how we treat people who make public service their life and profession, then you will always get “crooks” as politicians because who in their right mind would want the job? It’s like being a firefighter. When there’s a fire everybody runs out. You run in. It’s a maniac’s job but it has to be done so let’s have the best do it and not get wrapped up in what amounts to paperwork. That’s all this really is. Paperwork. You would rather stay at home or vote for someone George Orwell or Edgar Allan Poe couldn’t have dreamed up over emails? Then you’re even dumber than you look.

"This isn’t the lesser of two evils. This is a choice between one great and qualified candidate for the nation’s highest office who you really should be excited about and a dolt with a bad toupee who if you were honest with yourself you wouldn’t trust to manage a Dairy Queen much less the Oval Office.

"And I certainly don’t want to hear some fantastic load of tripe about Gary or Jill because they can’t win either and that’s simply the way it is. Deal with it. Those two are just like all of the other hundreds of people legitimately on the ballot to become President in November who are never going to get within spitting distance of the White House. Ever heard of Rod Silva? Me neither, but he’s running for President on the Nutrition Party ticket. Don’t believe me? Look him up. Here’s the bottom line: only two people can win and it’s not going to be anyone on this Rogue’s Gallery of wannabes…or the guy behind the deli counter or your neighbor’s cat so wake up.

"We have a great opportunity here, people. We also have the potential for real catastrophe and that’s not being hyperbolic. You know damn good and well which is which.

"Don’t be stupid."

"For Those Convinced Of Clinton’s Corruption" - The Boeskool

"...there are a lot of people who look at the prospect of a Hillary Clinton presidency, and actually don’t know who would be worse–Her, or the dumpster fire known as Donald Trump. Some are even considering her as the lesser of two evils. It has affected me as well. I get it. It works. I don’t really trust her either… And I’m not even sure why.

"But if a man had the tenacity and adept political maneuvering that Hillary Clinton has displayed, those things would be viewed as assets. But with her, it just comes off as her being conniving. Or “bitchy.” But as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler said while Hillary was campaigning against Barack Obama, “Bitch is the new black.” Anyway, who were you expecting? If a woman was ever going to rise to being a stone’s throw from the most powerful position in a country that has been so very patriarchal for it’s entire history, did you think she was going to be a wilting violet? She has had to navigate a harsh political landscape for decades… Of course she’s a bitch. Bitches get shit done. Again–I get it. It’s distasteful when people compromise their principles… But governing is about compromise. Compromise  is a necessity. When a nation is as divided as ours is, uncompromising principles is a recipe for getting nothing done. AND WE HAVE SOME THINGS THAT NEED TO GET DONE!

"But let’s just say–for the sake of argument–that all of her critics’ charges against her are true.... Let's say that she is guilty of everything from Whitewater to Benghazi and everything in-between… Even if it were all true, she still managed to keep herself out of trouble while just about every republican in a position of power has tried to prove it. That would be AMAZING!... One of two things is true: Either Hillary Clinton’s enemies cannot get any of these charges to stick to her because she is too politically astute, or they’re not sticking because she actually didn’t do them. Either way, she is infinitely more qualified to lead our nation than the angry, racist, inept, misogynistic, unknowledgeable, unstable buffoon that is the alternative… A man so colossally unqualified, that if you said the words “angry, racist, inept, misogynistic, unknowledgeable, unstable buffoon” on a gameshow, people would be able to guess who you’re talking about. Think about that. Make the right choice, America.

"Donald Trump’s Week of Misrepresentations, Exaggerations and Half-Truths"

POLITICO fact-checked both candidates for a week. This is what we found.

We subjected every statement made by both the Republican and Democratic candidates — in speeches, in interviews and on Twitter — to our magazine’s rigorous fact-checking process. The conclusion is inescapable: Trump’s mishandling of facts and propensity for exaggeration so greatly exceed Clinton’s as to make the comparison almost ludicrous.

Though few statements match the audacity of his statement about his role in questioning Obama’s citizenship, Trump has built a cottage industry around stretching the truth. According to POLITICO’s five-day analysis, Trump averaged about one falsehood every three minutes and 15 seconds over nearly five hours of remarks. (emphasis mine)

Though Clinton spoke for less than half as long as Trump, extrapolating the frequency of her misstatements suggests that even if she, too, spoke for as many hours as Trump, he'd still surpass her nearly four times over.

Politico then lists all 87 of the statements they checked.....

Of course, at this point (1 hour and 15 minutes before the first debate), no one is going to change the minds of Drumpf's followers. What's important is to get the Undecideds and those who think that a vote for Johnson or Stein or any of the others on the ballot to realize just what's in store for them if Clinton doesn't win.....

It doesn't. A career politician is what I want. I want a professional politician.

I find that to be quite an odd sentiment.  How is someone that is a career politician representative of the people?  They went to Yale, or Harvard or Princeton, their entire life they've never had want of anything, they were likely a corporate lawyer for most of their career. They are usually part of the in-group of whatever political party they are now a part of due to their participation in their youth. Why should they care about the common 9-5 working person just above the poverty line?

In what way do they have any underestanding or empathy with the struggles of the average voter?  If anything, the entire current system should be torn down and representative democracy should pull representatives from the population like jury duty.

Worthy of repeating:

The Dallas Morning News:

"This newspaper has not recommended a Democrat for the nation's highest office since before World War II — if you're counting, that's more than 75 years and nearly 20 elections.

"Trump's values are hostile to conservatism. He plays on fear — exploiting base instincts of xenophobia, racism and misogyny — to bring out the worst in all of us, rather than the best. His serial shifts on fundamental issues reveal an astounding absence of preparedness. And his improvisational insults and midnight tweets exhibit a dangerous lack of judgment and impulse control.

"After nearly four decades in the public spotlight, 25 of them on the national stage, Clinton is a known quantity. For all her warts, she is the candidate more likely to keep our nation safe, to protect American ideals and to work across the aisle to uphold the vital domestic institutions that rely on a competent, experienced president.

"Hillary Clinton has spent years in the trenches doing the hard work needed to prepare herself to lead our nation. In this race, at this time, she deserves your vote.

The Cincinnati Enquirer:

"The Enquirer has supported Republicans for president for almost a century – a tradition this editorial board doesn’t take lightly. But this is not a traditional race, and these are not traditional times. Our country needs calm, thoughtful leadership to deal with the challenges we face at home and abroad. We need a leader who will bring out the best in all Americans, not the worst.

"That’s why there is only one choice when we elect a president in November: Hillary Clinton.

"Trump is a clear and present danger to our country. He has no history of governance that should engender any confidence from voters. Trump has no foreign policy experience, and the fact that he doesn't recognize it – instead insisting that, "I know more about ISIS than the generals do" – is even more troubling.... The fact that so many top military and national security officials are not supporting Trump speaks volumes.

"Hillary Clinton has her faults, certainly, but she has spent a lifetime working to improve the lives of Americans both inside and outside of Washington. It's time to elect the first female U.S. president – not because she's a woman, but because she's hands-down the most qualified choice.

The Arizona Republic:

"Since The Arizona Republic began publication in 1890, we have never endorsed a Democrat over a Republican for president. Never. This reflects a deep philosophical appreciation for conservative ideals and Republican principles.

"This year is different.

"The 2016 Republican candidate is not conservative and he is not qualified.

"That’s why, for the first time in our history, The Arizona Republic will support a Democrat for president....

"Yet despite her flaws, Clinton is the superior choice.

"She does not casually say things that embolden our adversaries and frighten our allies. Her approach to governance is mature, confident and rational.

"That cannot be said of her opponent.

"Clinton retains her composure under pressure. She’s tough. She doesn’t back down.

"Trump responds to criticism with the petulance of verbal spit wads.

"That’s beneath our national dignity.

"In a nation with an increasingly diverse population, Trump offers a recipe for permanent civil discord.

"In a global economy, he offers protectionism and a false promise to bring back jobs that no longer exist.

"America needs to look ahead and build a new era of prosperity for the working class.

"This is Hillary Clinton’s opportunity. She can reach out to those who feel left behind. She can make it clear that America sees them and will address their concerns.

"She can move us beyond rancor and incivility.

"The Arizona Republic endorses Hillary Clinton for president.

So after Clinton called out Trump in the debate for his appalling treatment of Alicia Machado, the Trump campaign - or at least The Donald himself - has been trying feverishly (including Tweeting at 5 in the morning) for several days to discredit Machado, even going so far as to claim an appearance of hers in a TV show was actually a sex video.

(seriously, anyone who cannot let a criticism go after three days and is up at 5 in the morning Tweeting about it should be AUTOMATICALLY disqualified from ANY public office)

Well, the gang at Buzzfeed has found a little nugget from Donald's past that he probably won't be happy about.

Go to IMDB.
Look for "Playboy Video Centerfold: Playmate 2000 Bernaola Twins".

So while the peasants and sheeple argue back and forth over Trump..... We still have a current president.

Mr. Sneaky Obama who likes to pass laws and do things when you aren't looking, has decided that the time the Internet can be a place for freedom here in the United States has come to an end. I guess Hillary supporters want more of this shit.

Obama plunges toward handing over the Internet to Globalists
Oversight over the Internet will be controlled by an outside source beginning October 1st.... yes thats right TOMORROW!

Tyrannical like Regimes will have equal say over Internet regulations
Quote
President Barack Obama’s drive to hand off control of Internet domains to a foreign multi-national operation will give some very unpleasant regimes equal say over the future of online speech and commerce.
In fact, they are likely to have much more influence than America, because they will collectively push hard for a more tightly controlled Internet, and they are known for aggressively using political and economic pressure to get what they want.

Free Internet is doomed. The Internet will become another passive lazy controlled form of entertainment like cable Television and will be dominated by big global corporations. Ask yourselves this, who does this benefit? What do they have to gain?

This can very well start a path towards censorship of any political discourse. Meaning, only a CNN like entity telling us the news. So this isnt really a matter of liberal vs conservative or democrat vs republican.... at least I dont think it should be. This is a matter of our goddamn freedom of speech!

Here is a video explaining Obamas ICANN internet giveaway

2 + 2 = 5

ICANN = IWONTBEABLETO

The real headdesking coming out of Washington is the JASTA bill.

The "Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act" basically lets people sue foreign governments accused of sponsoring terrorism, so they can get compensation for damages.

The story goes like this:

Congress: We want to punish Saudi Arabia for 9/11.
Obama: Fair enough, except that the Saudi government had NOTHING to do with 9/11.
Congress: We don't care, we're going to write a bill that lets people sue them.
Obama: That's a bad idea. Not only does it mean ordinary citizens can mess around in foreign policy, it opens the door for other nations to do the same to us! Don't do it...
Congress: We wrote a bill!
Obama: Don't bother trying to pass it, it's going to be vetoed!
Congress: We passed the bill! 97-1!
Obama: I'm going to veto it. It's a VERY BAD idea!
Congress: Here's the bill for your approval.
Obama: VETO! Don't bother trying to override it; it's best for everyone that you let it go.
Congress: We overrode your veto! HAH!
GOP Leaders: Um, you know, that bill really needs to be rewritten. Not only does it allow ordinary citizens to interfere in foreign policy, it opens the door for other nations to do the same to us.
Congress: Waah! Obama! Why didn't you tell us this bill sucked! It's your fault! Waaah!!!
