8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

I lived very happily for 49 years without one and then I was finally pestered into getting one. Now I feel naked without it and I've lost that blissfull sense of peace when people could not get ahold of you  .

But all I want is a phone, and from what I can see, you can't buy a cel that is only that nowadays.  You have to get a phone that does 20 other things.  I'm unhappy with this.

My cellphone can only do calls. No camera, no texting, no other shit. When I got it from Sprint 3 years ago I got the cheapest possible thing and ever since they've asked me to upgrade to a " phone " that can do this and that and so forth and so on and that guy from India can't understand why I only want to talk. I have a nice camera for pictures ( a Kodak ) and the horrible spelling and grammar that they call texting annoys me to no end. You can only talk to me, no texting. I pay only $ 29 total a month and that's sufficient. A cell phone is for emergencies only as far as I'm concerned.
