Would it kill you to get more creative with your descriptions/references?

This one was held just after the Kingpriest — corrupted by excessive ambition and arrogance — called upon the gods to rid the land of evil — and just before they hurled a mountain at Istar, destroying the city in the Cataclysm, creating the Blood Sea, and sinking Ansalon into chaos for centuries. These pictures were taken during the Thirteen Warnings to the Kingpriest, just before the trees wept blood and just after the True Clerics disappeared, I believe. - Sportswriter Craig Calcaterra on the scene at the Giants game yesterday

A couple of days ago our sky here in Vegas had a similar hue but it wasn't as bad. We are hundreds of miles from whence the fires are but because the prevailing winds and weather fronts go from West to East, we eventually get California's bad luck.  :P
