The time zones would retain the same names, they would simply be moved one hour. Most likely, states would decide their own particular time period like Arizona, Hawaii and Alaska which don't follow daylight savings. Living here in Nevada, most people here would love permanent daylight savings because we are in the extreme East of the Pacific time zone and in Winter it gets dark at 4PM and pitch dark by 4:30PM which sucks.

I know right - traveling across the US does my head in.
We have time zones because like Canada and Russia, we are a continental size country and different time zones are necessary to take into account the huge size of the country. We are not an itty bitty country like Britain in which one time zone is ok. Yes, you are huge compared to Luxembourg for example, but then, who ain't?
Yes, Monaco is a lot smaller still, but it's a postage stamp size country.
