My imagination isn't strong enough.  I'm at a loss to explain this one.   :o ???

It looks to me like they used an old transit bus that was probably going to be disposed of and somebody thought that it could be used as a temporary pedestrian bridge to cross that narrow stream. You can see the foot path that leads to the rear access door and the front access door is a simple step down to the ground. They most likely used a crane to place it there. My $0.02.  :)

The right place at the right time.....

That's a bloody good explanation, sol!  I think you've got a very good chance of being right.  Nice one.  :-)

This is Corporal Manny, mascot of the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, named after Corporal Johnny Manuelito who was one of the Navajo code talkers from World War 2. The Navajo code talkers simply spoke in their tribal language and relayed intelligence and commands between Marine units in the open channels and the Japanese never figured out their messages since no Japanese ever heard of the Navajo. The Navajo nation is the largest tribe by area in the USA occupying a big chunk of Northeast Arizona, southeast Utah, Northwest New Mexico and Southwest Colorado which is also known as four corners and the only place in the USA where you can stand on four states at the same time.  :)

It's called "Four Corners", and is the only such "quadripoint" in the entire United States of America.

The border keeps on slightly changing due to the river, making it switch every so often from a true quadripoint to two tripoints quite close together, but the “Four Corners of Africa” at the eastern end of the Caprivi Strip has Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe sharing a quadripoint. Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings visited the spot for Condé Nast Traveler back in 2011.
