The second of the Iowa class of Battleships, your photo reminded me very much of the USS New Jersey, BB-62, which is now a museum ship in Camden, New Jersey, built during World War 2 at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and she was recommissioned during my active-duty time in the Navy back in the 1980's. She was reactivated during the Korean War and the Vietnam War and fully decommissioned in the 1990's.

USS Bataan (LHA-5), commissioned in 1997 is a Wasp class Landing helicopter ship that displaces 40,000 tons and it is used to help land US Marines on enemy soil. Named after the World War 2 battle of Bataan in the Philippines, after the battle, the USA lost it, and many captured Americans soldiers suffered through the Bataan Death March and the Japanese violated many Geneva convention articles.  >:(
