The only twist in that is that anyone can go to http://world.altavista.com and translate to/from German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and other languages.  As long as you have a basic rudimentary feel for the language you are translating into, it works pretty fargin' good.

Of course knowing the actual language helps a lot, then it's your spell-checker!
