This in a year where Playboy featured busty Pam Anderson look-alike Tina Jordan.

Perhaps the higher-ups at PEI (other than Hugh Hefner) realized that they were losing popular market share with their unrelenting stream of bleached-blonde, painted-face, Bulk-Rate sized (I mean they're all the same size) implanted Playmates.

For a while, when my hubby would see that it came in the mail, he'd open it, flip to the center gatefold, and then throw it back down after seeing it was "the same as last month."

That whole Pamela lookalike thing which is so staggering popular in LA boggles my mind... Pamela herself is hardly any sort of goddess... and then to clone her??? Tina Jordan may be nice and smart and funny and good hearted (it's possible... I have no idea of course), but all else being equal (leaving only sex appeal) I'd have to choose the skinny Latina.

Generic is boredom. IMHO.

IMO neither of them are anything to trip about.  I agree that Pam is no goddess, but Tina Jordan fails miserably even then at looking like her, she looks painted and awful...and I hate those implants.

For Playmate of the Year I'd expect a higher quality of woman than this Christina Santiago. Hef has made many poor PMOY choices in the past and this year is one of his worst decisions!!

I wouldn't choose Tina Jordan over Santiago as PMOY as I don't find either woman attractive.  And I haven't read Playboy in years so I don't know who the other playmates in the competition were.

I remember her on that FOX special Search for the next Playmate or whatever the fuck they called it and Santiago was a real acid bitch on that show to the other contestants. And now getting this prize pick I bet she's a real fucker of a joy to be around. Hef probably felt pressured to go with a little ethnicity this year (it's been a good while now since the last African American PMOY) and seeing how the latino influence in popular culture has been so heavy the last few few years he thought he'd pick a hispanic chick. But, damn, this skinny bitch ain't anywhere in the same league as a Shakira or even Jennifer Lopez.

I doubt this was hefs choice or at least not his first. I mean look at all his girlfrieds all blond and decent chests. I know tina was his choice but theres some itty bitty tity comittee conspiracy going on.  We need some kind of way to investigate. maybe some kind of under cover spy could look further into this. and take pictures. *wonders were we could enlist help *

AFAIK, PMOY is *always* Hef's choice.  It's still his magazine, after all.  He is not a stupid man (genius IQ, actually IIRC).  He is well aware of (a) the increasing Latino population (b) the criticism of so many PMOYs being "Hef's girlfriend" and (c) the criticism of the blonde brigade.  

"Hef's choice" doesn't necessarily equate to "Hef's favorite" or even "the one Hef thinks is prettiest".  It's as much a marketing and PR choice as it is beauty and body.  His reasons are often mysterious, but ultimately they're *his* reasons, not PEI's.
