breast augmentation information
« on: November 22, 2001, 02:03:00 PM »
Hello,
I am interested in getting massive breast implants and am having trouble finding places in the US that will do the size I want.  I know that in the US they have a limit of 1200cc for implants and that won't be big enough for me.  I understand that I can order the implants overseas and have them shipped here and then implanted.  The problem that I am running into is finding a doctor that will perform this surgery.  What I would like is a list of doctors or websites where I can find someone who will do this size implants.  The reason I am asking here is that this seems to be the central hub of BE information on the NET.  I would really appreciate any information you can send my way.  Thank you for your time and your help.  I hope that everyone who celebrates it has had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks,
Kathy

Wow, you've come to the right place. The best people to ask, are the women who have done it themselves. Melonie Charms and Sable Holiday.

From what I've read a "Doctor Johnson" in Texas is your best bet. This is the extent of my guy knowlege on the subject. :-)

If you're wanting string impants, you won't be able to get them in the US though.

Read this Houston Press story before selecting any plastic surgeon.  This story is about Dr. Gerald Johnson and indicates that his certification is not from a respected specialty board (he failed the exam for that when the story was written back in 1996) - some boards will certify almost any doctor who pays the fee, even those who aren't surgeons (but Dr. Johnson was one of the few noncertified doctors who did a plastic surgery residency).

Dr. Johnson's website is www.certified-plastic-surg.com.  Best of luck!

If you want to get big implants Dawn Witham can help you:

Another great resource for general info:

And now the bad news, I think that Dr Johnson doesn´t do string implants anymore.

Good luck.

Thanks everybody!  I knew that this would be the best place on the net to get info about this.  I am researching the sites you have pointed out.  I've always wanted to have VERY large breasts, but I hadn't, up until recently, decided to get implants.  I'm afraid I still don't know a lot about the different kinds.  What ARE string implants?  and what kind does Chelsea Charms have?  I really want to find someone in the US who can do this.  Thank you all SO MUCH again for all your help!  I really do appreciate it.

Thanks,
Kathy

Chelsea, Maxi, Sable, Minka, Kayla, myself and many other girls were part of a clinical study experiment using implants made of polypropylene string.  However, the 60 girls authorized by the study have already received their implants and no new patients are being accepted.  The future of string implants again becoming available now rests with an FDA approval for general use, which may come in 6 months, 6 years or never.

Large custom made implants are no longer available from US sources, however they are still available from European sources.  For US girls this makes for a choice of travelling to France for the surgery, or of dealing with a small handful of US plastic surgeons with the experience, skill and facilities to work with large implants.  Because hospitals and clinics in the US and Canada require an FDA device approval for insurance, they will NOT allow custom implants to be used in their facilities even after you obtain them.  This means that any  plastic surgeon doing custom implants must have his own private surgical facility.

I have used several plastic surgeons over the years in my own quest for a 50" chest, and Dr. Johnson was definitely the best of the group!  However, big implants by their very nature involve big risks of complications as well as big money to purchase and import the custom implants.  If you are truly interested in getting big implants for yourself, are willing to accept the risks, and money is no object, e-mail [email protected] expressing your desire to obtain large custom implants.  If you also mention that I recommended you in your e-mail to Dr. Johnson he'll spare you the obligatory 'housewife" implant speech.

Also I assume from your post that you don't presently have implants.  While Dr. Johnson will probably agree to put in as large of an implant that your breast skin can safely stretch over, it might not be possible for you to go from 'nothing' to 'huge' implant wise in one surgery.  To get to my present size I have had 4 sets of progressively larger implants and about 7 surgeries!  You may want to consider starting out with a set of 800cc standard implants done by a local plastic surgeon first, and once your breast skin adjusts to the new size THEN approaching Dr. Johnson to replace the 800cc implants with something much larger.
