Bastards

Oh... Just wanted to say a couple of things about the following posts, if you'll excuse the intrusion (again)...

While I welcome and appreciate all responses, this is word association, not phrase association. It's pretty hard to come up with free responses to phrases. For example, to "under the bus" or "We're all Bozos on this bus," I'm tempted to alternately respond, "Streetcars were once, and should again be, major U.S. public transport," or "Bob Bell of Chicago's WGN 'Bozo's Circus' program, which was once hosted by Ray Rayner, a childhood hero of mine, and it's a shame that there are no more locally-produced programs for young people."

Anyway, I love you all, and no criticism is intended. I'm merely relating my small-minded perplexity.

So that I might understand: You'd rather have fewer players?

My observation in life is that some players of games also like to play with the game itself. I don't think the 'incorrect' answers have been gratuitous. And I have on occasion swung by here and been stumped for a response to the most recent word -- in which case I simply don't contribute at that moment.

I'd dare say, keeping quiet would've been preferable to losing players, but maybe that's just me.

I'm not quite sure why you jumped on Robin, Raconteur.  He did say that no criticism was intended.  To me, he just seemed to be saying that preferred the game to one of single word association instead of phrases, I don't think he meant to tell anyone to either not play that way or don't contribute to the game.  I mean, I'm sure he can tell us, himself, what he meant.  But I just interpreted it as his pitch to steer the game back to what he felt was the original intention.

I'm not quite sure why you jumped on Robin, Raconteur...

That's me trying to honestly ask the question: Would Robin rather have fewer, "more accurate" players? It sure seems like Eliza left because of Robin's comment.

I then point out how I've dealt with other folk's responses that I couldn't grok.

I didn't mean it in any way as an attack. It was at most meant as a direct question, trying to get at the heart of the commentary. I can't say I've always been 'happy' with what other people throw out there in this game, but I wouldn't expect myself to say their answers were in any way 'wrong'. If Robin were to post a full-sentence reply, as mentioned, I might remark on it, but doubt I'd say it was wrong.

My words weren't typed in an angry voice, but a direct voice.  :)
Yes, well, erm, ahh, hmmm, uh, um, ...eh?

Ah.  Well, her "leaving" had nothing to do with Robin's comment at all.  I mentioned above why she "left".  Actually, she feels very silly about "leaving" the game and admits that it was an over-reaction.   :P :))

Well, tell her all is forgiven and forgotten or whatever and to saddle up and fly right. We miss her here.  :)
