Bee Sting
« on: June 02, 2009, 01:10:30 PM »
I got stung this last saturday by a bee who landed on my foot. SO my foot was slightly swollen, and I went and played n it all day yesterday, and I'm paying for it. I'm taking Benedryl and Tylenol but its still quite annoying. I can't wear flip flops because of the swelling.......Bees suck.

I'm assuming you are not allergic to the sting. When I was a kid one of my cousins got stung by a bee and it was god awful how his neck swelled up. We almost lost him. Been stung by bees but a wasp is much, much worse. Just don't scratch it, it doesn't help.

Should have tried toothpaste on the wound.   The baking soda and sugar in the paste help swelling and pain somehow.  (least thats what I heard)

And an aloe plant never hurts.

Ages ago, when I was in my late teens, I was walking along the (fairly rugged) banks of a small local river, the South Fork of the Snoqualmie. I was walking along a falled log in which a nest of very small, but very aggresive, wasps lived. The experience gave me a great respect for wild insects.
Someday, chi1dren, this entire fuck-up will be yours.
