Pal replies: from the promos, it strikes me as a Twilighty sort of thing... with 20-something actors playing teens and aiming for a youngish audience. Is my impression mistaken?
I think I know the promo you speak of, and the intention is to somewhat mock the "Twilight" take on vampire/werewolf relations, at least when it comes to the main characters. It's about a vampire and a werewolf who are friends, and decide to rent a house and live a more human lifestyle while also trying to avoid the sort of issues (like, uncontrollable killings) that arise from being monstrous/supernatural creatures. As it happens, the house they move into is haunted by the ghost of a woman who died there, but they all end up getting along reasonably well and trying to help each other even as events transpire against them. The characters are all in their mid-20's (well, the vampire is much older but was "turned"at that age) so it's free of high-school teen/tween angst, if that's what you're thinking. Instead, the ghost is preoccupied with the circumstances of her death, the werewolf is trying to pursue a romantic relationship while avoiding his family, and the vampire is at odds with the leader of the vampire community, who is advancing some sinister agenda and is looking to bring him on board. A bit more "serious" drama in my opinion, and played out rather well with some occasional bits of humor to keep it from being totally bleak.
If it helps, Being Human is also on Monday, so why not watch it back-to-back with SGU?

Pal replies: well, thank you for the synopsis... plotwise that was my impression from the promos (albiet w/o your specifics). I still suspect it's off-puttingly targeted at viewers other than myself, but maybe I will give it a try tomorrow and just see what happens!
