Posting video in threads I make?

Why can't I post video and have the video so people can play it on the page any more? And the insert flash thing does not work. The video just shows up as a link and not as the video on the page.

I want to post some new videos on here but can't because of this glitch. Thank you.

Are you possibly remembering doing that from another forum? As far as I can recall (being that I'm a little hung over today), we've never been able to imbed video in posts in this forum. Sorry.

Yes you could. I the thread I did that in is http://forum.bearchive.com/index.php/topic,548096.0.html

Notice the video is embedded.  [Not sure what changed and why it is not possible any more./color]

OK, you're obviously right. My mistake.

Those videos were posted in the old forum software; we changed to new software in May/June of 2009. That may explain why you're having problems embedding video now. It doesn't explain why the old embeds still work, though.

Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment.

...so it looks like this forum software disables any HTML code that is posted.

I know. I wish That I could post them like that again but have the video show on the page. Well thank you for responding. If it changes I know someone will let me know. I will make the new video thread anyway. what is the insert flash button for? It does not seem to insert any flash.

OK, found the reason: to prevent various forms of thread vandalism, we've kept HTML disabled in all versions of the forum since January, 2008.

Your next best option is to post a thumbnail-image that's a link to each movie, like this:

Thank you sweetie. I understand. I just thought something was wrong because I remembered posting videos in threads before and having them show up as a video on the page. Well I posted the thread with links to my new videos.
