Someone I know (who apparently hates Obama) posted that pic on F@cebook with the comment that he claimed to have never fired a gun.  I'm confused; I thought the reason why they released that pic was because he *had* claimed to have fired a gun, and (like the stupid birth certificate deal) there was some demand for proof to back up the claim.

These days, the standard/stereotypical right-wingers aren't so much "funny" as they are "confusing" to me.  I mean, the same person linked an image where priority #1 for what they want for the USA was "No Obama"...well, that's going to be the case in 4 years no matter what, so why are they kicking up a fuss about it?!

From what I've seen on the web, he's suppose to be skeet shooting in the photo but skeet shooters are saying there's no way he's skeet shooting in that pic.  It must be a staged photo.

I've never shot skeet; is this some sort of modification? If so, what does it do? Slow the shot? Reduce the range?

The barrel heats up when the weapon is fired, thus the sights become off center. The ventilated rib is above the barrel and has air cooling the bridge the sights are on, so it keeps it more accurate.
