« on: September 21, 2011, 11:17:48 AM »
Hey all. Just signed for story club and I get a "webpage can't be found". Any ideas of what might be going on?

I've forwarded your issues to customer care and hope they're resolve the problem or at least get in touch with you soon.

Please remember though, that as a rule, the only way to get their attention is to contact them directly: via phone, email or private message. Posting here in the Site Issues forum only means that other users (and us forum moderators) will see your complaint... and none of us are really in a position to do anything about it ourselves.

Thanks and good luck for a speedy resolution.

So, I take it no one else really bothers with the BE Story Club any more, given the few answers I received. Thanks to those who did respond. I got email saying they would contact me as soon as possible, but nothing else. I hope it's ok, otherwise I have wasted 25 bucks...

Look, in all frankness, it's not exactly a revelation that getting in touch with customer care can be a challenge. And yes, in a perfect world, this wouldn't be the case: they'd proactively deal with problems and when a user did contact them, they'd respond promptly and do their best to resolve the issue ASAP. But we don't live in a perfect world of course (otherwise I'd have woken up this morning with Chloe Vevrier or Danni Ashe in bed next to me. Or both. ;) ).

So, with this reality in mind, you have to be your own best advocate: if you don't feel that you're getting reasonable responsiveness, or receiving the services for which you've paid, then it's up to you to do all you can to let them know you'd like (and expect) their help. You should always be polite of course, but if necessary, you should also be persistent: you can call the 800 number for customer care and leave messages, you can email them and you can send private messages to both Matt and Gabe.

I emailed them yesterday on your behalf and (surprise, surprise) they didn't respond or even acknowledge my email either (so don't think it's just users that have a hard time getting them to communicate). I've repeatedly suggested that they have someone from customer care routinely skim this one sub-forum and respond to complaints themselves, but for whatever reason, they're unable or **86** to do so.

Forum mods have nothing whatsoever to do with any of the BEA paysites: we're not BEA employees or staff, nor can we allocate sysadmin resources to fix problems. All we can do is what we've done: respond to your complaint and pass it along to those actually responsible for addressing it.

I wish there was more we could do. Sorry that's not the case.

I'm not holding you responsible. Just seeing if anyone else might know what might be going on. I apologize if my post seemed like you were to blame. That was not my intent.

I didn't think you were blaming us (forum mods)... I just wanted to clarify that what you're experiencing is a common problem and suggest a course of action, that's all. Good luck with getting your access restored. :)

OK, looks like they finally fixed the site.

Pal replies: glad to hear it. Since they never actually replied to me I've no idea if it'd still be broken had no one complained.  ???

I purchased the audiobook, and reupped for three months so I could see the Welcome to Chasitity and unfortunately it still doesnt work.  A plain white page and it errors out for the audiobook.  Those who know me, know I will advise against purchasing these items until they learn to fix errors.

Plus, their customer service will NOT reply to you or HELP you in anyway whatsoever when you have problems.  They're lucky I likke the art otherwise I wouldnt waste my time on it.

Hi everyone, we detected a server glitch that causes some "NEW ACCOUNTS" not to have access to the members area of the Storyclub. This error only occurs with the BEstoryclub site though.

I am working hard to reply each one of the e-mails we've received due to this problem, while our webmasters are trying to detect where the glitch is generated.

The good thing is that each account can be fixed MANUALLY, and when I reach an account, besides fixing it, I always make up to the owner by giving extra days for free, in other words, by extending the membership's current month for free of course.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, but you've seen that we're working really hard to improve the number of delivered comics & stories, rising A LOT their quality.

The idea is to have a site that you were proud of, not just glad of enjoying good material.

In short words, we're aware of the situation, and we're working on it right now.

Best regards.

Thanks for the response Matt... glad to hear that BEA is aware of the problem and working to resolve it. :)
