Modded Video Clips using collage and After Effects
« on: February 03, 2013, 05:11:43 AM »
Hi all.

Well, after I didn't make the cut with our in-work Graphic Design team for the 3rd time in 5 years, I somehow found myself trying After Effects for the first time in 5-7 years. Needless to say, I've been on a sleepless kick for awhile making all sorts of collages.

I thought I'd share some of them here as moving gifs.

The one included with this topic is Rachel Hurd-Wood from a clip of 2003's 'Peter Pan.' Keep in mind that her body from the shoulders on down is all composited in After Effects. I loved the expressions, as it looks like she starts unsure, and then begins to enjoy the sensation and look of her chest swelling larger.

I'll post a few more soon. There's a couple in the user gallery for now too, the one with Joy Harmon, and Valeria Golino.

Here's another one I put together. It doesn't show any BE, but it was an experiment to match the chest to the girl's body.

Pal says: looks promising! Are you 'matching' motions by eye/hand or is there some sort of usable motion tracking/match-move tool at work? Who's the girl (Gale?) btw? Just curious. ;) -Pal

I did this one largely by eye/hand, but tried to match up little parts of her body to make it work.

The girl is a former beach movie actress named Gail Gilmore, probably one of my first crushes, even though at the time I saw this film, she was about 30+ years older than I.

I got the chance to meet her in New York a few years ago, but didn't let on some of my 'thoughts' about her.

I could be mistaken, and probably am, but wasn't the BE sequence in the comic movie Faust done via AE?

(it's such a popular gif I'm sure it could be easier to find then to have me post it from my phone.)

I'm experimenting with 2d morphs using a forced 3d perspective via depth layers with "displacement maps" and , ithink it's called the Warp effect. sorry, not at my pc or i would give more accurate specifics.

youtube is an awesome source for effect examples and tutorials of whic application is only limifed by our imagination, or lack thereof.

And, i love it so far.
B.E. Good!
