Yesterday I went to see the new "Godzilla x Kong, The new Empire." movie and it was pretty good. Rather than fight each other, they fought against a common enemy. Go see it.  :)

Too true....

There is an actual drive-in theatre in my area that is reopening after being closed since the 1984. The last movie it showed before it closed was Ghostbusters, and the first movie it will now show when it reopens this month is Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

Oh, I wish a drive-in would open in my city.  The last one here closed more than 20 years ago.   :(

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.

I remember seeing the original with Steve McQueen back in 1968 when I was a k1d and that car chase through the actual streets of San Francisco with him actually driving a Mustang in some of the shots, remains to this day to be considered the best car chase in film history. He was only 50 years old when he died in 1980 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. I'm sure the new one will be full of CGI.  :P

Oh dear. Let's hope it's not as bad as the typical Fast & Furious movies :)

Yesterday I went to see the 85th anniversary of the movie "Gone with the Wind", with Vivian Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara and Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. It was almost four hours long and it remains a true classic. I remember first seeing it in in 1964 when I was seven years old living in Mexico, and it had Spanish subtitles. My mother was from Texas and she told my Dad to takes us to the Palacio de Polanco to see it there. There were no multi-plexes in those days but single screen huge movie houses and we were all dressed up in our Sunday best clothes. I've seen it on TV several times since but you have to go to the big screen cinema to fully appreciate its epic scale.  :) By the way, the USA Civil War ended in 1865 and the movie first shown in 1939 or 74 years after the Civil War, so I saw it yesterday with a bigger gap than when the movie had with the war.

Another sequel in the Bridget Jones franchise has been announced.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is the fourth movie in the series starring Renée Zellweger and should be released by Valentine's Day, 2025.

"Others set to return in the film, from director Michael Morris (To Leslie), include Hugh Grant (Wonka) and Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande). Newcomers to the cast will include Chiwetel Ejiofor (Rob Peace) and Leo Woodall (The White Lotus)...

Based on the beloved novels from Helen Fielding, and a previous column she wrote as the title character for The Independent, the rom-com franchise Bridget Jones centers on Zellweger’s endearing yet perpetually single character of the same name, examining her relationships with the dashing Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), and the roguish Daniel Cleaver (Grant), among others. The original film adaptation, Bridget Jones’s Diary, was released in 2001, with follow-ups Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Bridget Jones’s Baby arriving in 2004 and 2016, respectively. The three films together grossed over $760 million worldwide. Introduced in Bridget Jones’s Baby as Jones’s OB/GYN, Dr. Rawling, Thompson also co-wrote the screenplay for that film.

Based on the third book in Fielding’s series, Mad About the Boy picks up with Bridget in her early fifties, as she navigates the challenges of modern life while juggling the responsibilities of motherhood. No word yet as to who Ejiofor and Woodall will be playing....Fielding has written the script, with further contributions from Abi Morgan and Dan Mazer."

New Rockstars, 2 March 2024: "SUPERMAN (2025) FIRST LOOK: Everything We Know"

We know a bit more now.

The actor is David Corenswet, and there have been the usual extremely divided reactions about the suit.

The suit is good enough - and it's not the suit that makes the character. My reaction to the photo?

"Dude, your city is being zapped by a massive space beam. At least LOOK like there's some urgency, OK?"
