Charlize Theron of course, very famous South African, has played many, many roles with an American accent.

Charlize Theron of course, very famous South African, has played many, many roles with an American accent.

She was born in Benoni, Gauteng Province, South Africa. Her first language is Afrikaans, and she still speaks it quite well. She explains that since she moved to the States at seventeen, she quickly picked up the American accent. She's currently got dual nationality (USAmerican, and South African), having become a naturalized US citizen in 2007.

Kevin McKidd, who played Dr. Owen Hunt on Grey's Anatomy, is Scottish. Here he is speaking in his native accent.

Although Camilla Luddington, who played Jo Wilson on Grey's Anatomy, is English, she maintains an American accent while shooting because she isn't as adept as daily switching between accents as Kevin McKidd is.

Yeah, it's amazing how American all those Greeks were.  ;)

And they would all be Canadian if they say " eh ? " all the time.  ;) ;D

I did not know that Will Arnett is actually Canadian, from Winnipeg (although he grew up in Toronto). Here he is using the "eh?" correctly.

I didn't know a lot of that stuff was Canadian only!  And a lot of it, I don't say, and I AM Canadian.   :)

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.

Re-watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and discovered that the bad guy, American businessman Walter Donovan was played by Julian Glover, who is English. Glover is said to have been dissatisfied with the quality of his American accent in the film but I think he was being too hard on himself.

^I think he was too, Zookie.  I certainly didn't know he wasn't American, watching him.

By total coincidence, I watched Patriot Games (1994) just before changing the channel to watch Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014), which I had never seen before. Chris Pine plays Jack Ryan, and the British actress Keira Knightley plays his American fiancée.
