The path of totality will cross the United States from Oregon to South Carolina.
Kansas City and St Louis are on the edges of the path, but Nashville is right in the middle.
And if you're making travel plans, at least four minor league baseball teams will be playing home games in the path of totalilty:
The
Salem- Keizer Volcanoes (Oregon) will be having events all weekend, leading up to a special 9:30 am game time on Eclipse Day.
In South Carolina, the Greenville Drive, Columbia Fireflies, and Charleston River Dogs all have events in the works. They're not on their schedules yet, but I e-mailed the teams to ask, and they ALL got back to me right away with confirmations.
The Nashville Sounds will also be playing at home that day, but nothing's been announced on their website yet, and I haven't contacted them.
