I am 45 years old but my skin looks older than that. I am scared of doing any kind of cosmetic surgery. But I have made the decision to go ahead with a facelift. Probably that is what my skin wants, it won’t stop sagging down my cheeks. My hubby is supportive but says I look fine the way I am, but I know otherwise. He is not ashamed of taking me to parties with him. But I am really ashamed of going out and hanging around with the ‘wives” of his friends. I have lost my youthful contour, I have to face it. My upper lids cover half of my eyes and I have a constant "shadow" under my eyes. I have some jowling and a bit of a turkey neck. The doctor said if I want to see what to expect, I could sit in a recliner and lean back about 45 degrees. I have done that, but really don't see much difference. Anyway, I am going to do facelift from Toronto. So my question to all of you out there, who have had previous experiences is that, how do you all like your results, were they what you expected? Were you satisfied or overwhelmed or was it better then you expected? I would be pleased to see your responses. Thank you.

I'm not experienced in this but I think by researching it online and looking at realistic result post-op pics (and not ones from ads or **28**) you will probably be able to decide if it's a good idea!

Be sure the doctor is a board certified plastic surgeon, not a board certified cosmetic because there isn't a legitimate board for cosmetic surgery, and such doctors often never completed plastic surgery residencies (or, like Dr. Johnson, failed their board certification) or any surgical residency at all.   

Also unreliable are city magazines that feature the "best" doctors.  The worst doctors often get listed because they have press agents. 
 

Look for someone with privileges at the biggest burn treatment centers in the state because the best plastic surgeons do a great deal of reconstructive surgery.
