This is a prime example. Someone has to be taking pics for her. Could she set up a camera on a timer and get a quality pic in a store?

Sure, it's possible. Or she could use the old photographer's trick of putting the camera into video mode, going over to pose, and then extracting the sharpest still from the lot.
