Looking for "Second Life" I see a thread that goes back to 2007, so perhaps it's time to describe the current state of the art in Second Life breasts.
A major advance in realism, or perhaps verisimilitude is the better term, came with the "sculpted prim". Rather than being a simple geometrical shape, a sculpted prim (in the initial version at least) is like a sphere that you can poke in or out where certain latitude and longitude lines intersect. (Right now there's a move underway to allow mesh import, which I expect will make things even better.) There are a fair number of vendors of prim breasts.
(By the way, prim breasts aren't just for those who want to have enormous breasts. The high end of the size scale for the stock Second Life avatar looks really bad--does anyone, save maybe the Bizarro World version of Lois Lane, have breasts with corners?--so prim breasts allow a pleasing shape over a wide range of sizes, and, at least up until a recent version of the Emerald Second Life client, it's been the only way to jiggle.)
Prim breasts can be scripted, so that they can grow or shrink on command, and even lactate (using "particle generators"). These days, they often come with a heads-up display to control position, size, clothing (a layer around them that can be made opaque or transparent), lactation, and even skin texture and color. Implant Nation (a name I really don't care for--prim breasts are made necessary by the limits of the SL avatar, but I don't like to think of them as implants!) was the first, as far as I know, to create prim breasts with HUDs; nowadays they are a common feature of prim breasts.
Prim breast makers typically provide some tops, and Smashing Prims was a pioneer in making really nice clothing that came with prim breasts that had matching textures, but the use of a clothing layer has made it possible for third parties to create clothing for use with prim breasts, and there's now a flourishing group of makers of such clothing. (I'm hoping that it will expand further, and that there will be more modest clothing to choose from as time goes on.)
You've already heard of Big'Uns and EPIC. There are other establishments dedicated to well-endowed dancers, though to the best of my knowlege, Hooterville, mentioned in another thread, is no more.
There's also a lot of Second Life based machinima--perhaps it would be a good medium for those wanting to do video involving breast expansion?
P.S. Second Life, with its emphasis on user-generated content, is the only virtual world I know of that caters to those who wish to have figures that vary from the mainstream. (Admittedly I'm not totally familiar with the field--I may try Red Light Center, if it will run under WINE (it's Windows-only... ptui!) to see whether it allows one to be well-endowed.

To my mind, the whole concept of 3d generated breasts (especially in MMOs) isn't driven by the realism of the image as much as the suspension of disbelief that the participants follow. In short, give me a game with crappy BE and someone who is willing to act like it's really happening over a well detailed version any day.
But then again if Second Life allows for machinima and a skilled someone takes it for a ride, then you've got my attention.

Part of what I'm trying to accomplish with EPIC this time around is creating self-contained areas for exploring the different aspects of BE, growth, or whatever people are most interested in...assuming that boobs are a major component at some point.
I have the prototypes of some of these areas up now, and they would also make excellent little sound stages for photo shoots or videos or whatever...with user-generated content the only limit is your imagination and time to put it all together. And since we have some of the best looking and most skilled BE roleplayers on our staff, I'm sure all you'd have to do is ask and you would have plenty of volunteers to star in them.
As for the implants themselves, yes, there is no requirement that you wear them at gigantic sizes. One of the major implant makers wears her own implants and keeps them quite modest. The overall effect is a much more natural, rounded shape without all the jaggy edges.
My plans also include making a full range of clothes from sexy to professional to match as many different kinds of implants as possible...the only problem being that there's only one of me (at least until they get that cloning thing down).

I'm flattered, but I fear I'm a bit of a dilettante. I program in real life, but after three years I've not taken up SL scripting or building. I just edit textures a bit to adapt tops for prim breasts. I do argue in favor of SL better supporting large breasts (sigh, I knew I'd write something like that); prim breasts are a tribute to user-generated content triumphing over the limitations of the SL avatar shape and to the innovation, skill, and artistry of their makers, but it would be better if they weren't necessary.
I think Teny would do better than I would in that position.

The good dancers in SL are indeed willing to act like it's really happening, and are quite good at painting with words to make up for the inadequacies of SL animation--SL animations are things you simply start and stop; the ability to do that at opportune times and to sequence them is all the control you really have.
(Not being good at that, and just plain shyness, are why I'm not a dancer.)

We're actually very selective in the people that we hire to work at the club, in that they not only have to look fabulous, but that they are also decent roleplayers. Many come from extensive RP backgrounds and have spent countless hours perfecting their skills in text-only environments. I've also been getting permission from some of the girls to post their pictures here so you can see somebody besides me grinning and spilling out of the screen at you.
As for play areas, I've recently expanded the club's land holdings and I'm in the process of building some popular BE-themed rooms and play areas. Stables, space stations, castles, miniature cityscapes, and the like for people to explore their favorite or different scenarios. If anyone here has any ideas about different themed areas, by all means post them here or in one of my other threads and I'll see what I can do (no promises).
I don't know about having a dedicated ambassadorial role, but I would be more than happy to keep the BEA as up to date as I can on SL's goings ons. I'm already doing what I can to transform EPIC (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Villiana/17/82/25 (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Villiana/17/82/25)) into a hub for breast fetishists everywhere, so it would make sense. After all, we did just become the official meeting place of "Laurana's Cuties", a group requiring all it's members to constantly maintain at least a 100'' bustline. And now that I think about it, as the owner and operator of one of the most popular clubs catering to All Things Boob, I do end up getting a lot of advanced notice (or beta testing) from the different implant developers and clothes designers, many of whom I have on my friend's list.

As far as "ambassador", what I meant was that you keep us informed on BE and busty goings-on in SL, and if you are so inclined, give the BEA a plug over at SL. Probably nothing more than you are doing now.
Maybe the people here who do those things can give you a nice little title to go with your avatars here on the Forum.

Guess I'm coming outta the proverbial woodwork to support this thread, and like, Second Life boobs in general. I been wearing prims in some form or another for a few years, and they've definitely improved, and have become plenty more mainstream since I first started! I'm proud of my babies, and love the thrill flaunting them.
Anyways, hmmm, just wanted to say HI and stuffs!

I'd be happy to keep the BEA updated, even if it means just being an aggregator and cross-posting here or someplace that's easily accessible.
As for in-world advertising or , I would love to hear from an official BEA representative about setting something up. I'm sure there are all kinds of opportunities if we're willing to explore them.

I wouldn't mind dancing... but I'd really have to get my role playing up to **11**. It's pretty hard to pull off well. I think I've pissed off half a dozen people since I've been on SL.

OK. This is not yet official--it was taken by the beautiful and talented Foxbean Liebknecht using an experimental version of the "Imprudence" Second Life client that enables flexible sculpted prims. (The methods for allowing jiggle currently, while noble attempts, have their problems.)

I thought of an interesting question. What the copyright rules for Second Life screen shots? I do not own the IP rights to like 90% of an image so I really can't copyright it, would the one screen shot per day rule be in effect since I can not copyright it in my name?

I guess the first issue is up to the moderators. As for prim size, stock issue SL prims can be up to ten meters in each dimension--but someone found some fine print that allowed for the creation of "megaprims" that are considerably larger. Linden Lab, the folks who run SL, have allowed those that exist to exist, and is supposed to be coming up with a policy on them. Builders love them because you can use them for things like walls, roads, sidewalks, and such and conserve on your prim budget. (A given piece of land is allocated a certain number of prims.)

Yes, they were Lolas; and pretty easy to set up. There are a bunch of preset skintones, and it only took a bit of tweaking to get some reasonable results.
And Juggernutz, I know whatcha mean! I'm kinda torn between wanting to sport giant round Lolo-mellons or juicy knockers... I guess I'll toss it up to the whims of the day!

I've considered trying Second Life several times, but I've had a devil of a time trying to make sense of it all. I'm not especially tech-savvy, so there's a significant learning curve for me.
I don't suppose anyone has any tips they could offer? ^^;

Time and practice learning each control, preferably in some open space. The Sandbox is a good place to start.
I'm pretty tech-savvy about learning GUIs, and this one was a doozy, so don't feel bad, Nakhakren. :)

It takes time to learn, that's for sure--and if things get slow, the lack of immediate feedback makes it a lot harder to associate action with result.
Look for NCI, New Citizens Incorporated. Lots of very helpful people and resources for those starting out.
Don't hang around the "welcome areas"; a lot of the people there aren't particularly helpful--to the contrary, sad to say.
Find a mentor. Find people who share your interests. If you can find a mentor who shares your interests, you're even better off.

I got to watch Ginger ride her horse yesterday and even though the ranch gave her their strongest Clydesdale, you could see that its was struggling under the load of her massive breasts. It was a sight to behold thought to watch them bounce and jiggle as the poor horse tried to gallop for Ginger.

While there isn't anything wrong with that, Boob Hax and any of the other admins of the club don't seem willing to advertise it like Teny does (Sylvertung here on the forums). As far as I know, Mammatus has always been furry dominated.
Also, I own the Villiana sim, and I'm a furry and the majority of all the other tenants on the sim are furries.

Breasts (particularly large breasts), seem to be something that everyone who passes through our doors can agree on. Ever since the very beginning of EPIC, we have tried to make it a comfortable and welcoming place for anyone willing to show up. Humans, furries, macros (giants), micros (tinies), demons...whatever. Considering that I'm an exotic dark elf and not welcome in many places, it was never an issue that we would turn away anyone who shared our common interest in All Things Boob.

Also, I make a point of not using REALLY large prim breasts for any sort of public performance, out of respect for the artist (and to avoid occupying several adjacent seats.
That said... SL isn't different from RL in a lot of ways, and that includes people's worse sides. I've received some ridicule, and prim breasts come in for a lot of verbal abuse on blogs like SL Fashion Police and What the Fug?

Strictly speaking, this isn't quite to the topic, but, since there's another thread on corsets--there are some lovely corsets in SL. Just as ingenious people have found ways around the limits on avatar breast size, other ingenious people have found ways around the limits on avatar waist size in the other direction. Just to mention one, the House of Alisha has a lovely outfit with a corset that one can adjust to give one a waistline as small as one inch. (When I wear it, I stay at Mlle. Polaire's size, thirteen inches. Alas, prim breasts of the size I use kind of ruin the effect, so I don't wear it often.)

Wow, I'd just like to say that it's great on how well known SL is to our comunnity now, especially looking back to when the usual statement was 'Sl, what's that?'
And although I seldom post here, it's nice to see some familiar names from the grid, even if I am a bit of a recluse from the BE crowd on the grid.

I respectfully submit that the advance is thanks in large part to pioneers like you, dear Sophie. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
To explain, back before prim breasts were--well, I can't say "before prim breasts were cool", because they still aren't, at least in some very vocal circles--before they were something you could zip over and buy and fiddle with a convenient heads-up display to configure just right, and then buy clothes specially made for them, there were a few brave and resourceful women who built and textured their own prim breasts. (If I had sufficient GIMP skill, I'd morph a photo of Bryant Baker's classic Pioneer Woman statue and insert it here.) I am eternally grateful to them.

Icon Allen, a friend of mine and one of the implant designers is a quite adept at sculpting in general. She made some statues for the outside of one of the previous incarnations of Big'Uns which I always liked, and which she has graciously donated to me to use as I will.

I heard some discussion as to where the best place to go for BE interest is, so I'd thought I'd comment
I first heard about SL in the BEA forums and joined because of the BE aspect of SL and prim breasts. I've been on SL for over two years and been going to Mammatus for those two years. The Milky Way Ranch has been there since as long as I've known and hasn't changed in it's open and friendly atmosphere. As far as clubs go, they come and go. Even if some last longer, they may change owners, rules, buildings, the list goes on. I'm not saying change is bad, but it can change for the worse. I have found big breasts club I like, but they're hard to find and unfortunately come and go. To be honest, I don't care how hot the dancers are or how well they do their jobs. Places that have nice people with similar interests, little drama, and reasonable rules, in my opinion are better places to spend your time.

Minka, dear, all you should need to do is add something like "MP © 2010" or even "© MP" to the images and that should be enough for a copyright. Minka did take those photo, I was there during the shoot. What a lovely show. Also, she is the creator of outfit, hopefully the mods will give she a bit of time to add some copyrights. Next time I see her in SL, I let her know about this issue.

Hey everybody Its Minka! (secondlife Minka not real one, I try though. I even have a tennis racket!) Here is little outfit I made for the dingdong girls. I not huge like them, but it stretches! I been busy and even made sculpt breasts last night (took about 20 tries), but now perfect but look way to much ecorp so will change them little. You get second life account, You tell me when you login and I try meet you. Get you started show you around tiny bit to different clubs and important noob places to gather accessories. In fact I will make noob welcome pak this week and place out for newcomers.
Important part about second life. To see adult stuff (naked boobs etc) you need to be age verified. Once you make signup go to secondlife.com to your account page and choose age verifiy. In there you fill out information then you can go inworld. (note inworld you need go to your preferences and set adult/mature/pg as its locked out until you do so.)
Watch you tube SL videos a while first, will help lots.
Careful is addicting.

There's an unwritten rule in SL, that you can't be any bigger than what you can carry above the ground. Janeen found some platform boots and with a little work this is what can be achieved size wise...
This ensures that you can walk around with 95% of your boobs above ground. The boobs are at their maximum size of about 10m each.

I don't know if it's an unwritten rule, but I certainly follow it. Alas, attachments are marked as "nonphysical"--that makes them violate some of the rules that matter follows, notably the one about two objects not being able to take up the same space at the same time. That makes for loss of verisimilitude as sufficiently large breasts go underground instead of resting on the ground and flattening out where they touch. Hug a well-endowed woman in SL and you'll walk through her breasts to get to her.
So, as Ginger says, to have really large breasts, you have to go out of your way to avoid that effect. There are extreme platform boots (a store called Curio Obscura sells them), or an "animation override" that takes advantage of a bug in SL to stretch your avatar until you're about twelve feet tall; that helps.
Remember those "megaprims" I mentioned earlier? Today a friend pointed me at a photo that shows that someone out there is using megaprims to make prim breasts. It's very impressive. There's a speck at the rear of the breasts that, after you stare at it for a while, you recognize is the head of the woman to whom those breasts belong. If I were to guess I'd estimate that they're somewhere around twenty or thirty meters across, or more.

So... there's a new version of the Second Life client program out in beta, and it fixes all the problems I've seen with shadows. The problem: for some strange reason, it doesn't bother to render my eyes! Until that's fixed, I have to be very careful or stick to landscapes. I can, though, put up a picture of a dear friend and drop-dead gorgeous woman, Foxbean Liebknecht.

Indeed it is possible. Some prim breasts have accessories such as dart guns--shoot the prim breast user with a dart and she grows. Some can be made subject to voice control.

Oops. Sorry about that.
Selsey Seelowe sells an animation override that takes advantage of a bug to stretch the avatar so that it looks like it's taller than it really is, about 12' tall, though it won't change your interactions with the rest of SL--you'll fit through doors as you did before activating it.
Also, there is Cyanide Ember's BIGAVS system, which also takes advantage of that bug. The first version had you riding a vehicle, and let you have a 76' avatar. The second does not use a vehicle, and has 20' and 40' versions--but overall it's a major improvement over the first version.
Giantess avatars have the problems that prim breasts bring when it comes to clothing, in spades. That said, a friend has one, I think the BIGAVS setup, and she looks quite good at her height (and with her gigantic bosom; remember the photo on which I was a white speck? That was her bosom on which I rested).
Anyway, whichever of these you use, the growth is not continuous; you won't go through all the intermediate heights between your starting and ending height. So in that sense you can't grow or shrink. You can make yourself taller or shorter all at once.

The blue ball is Ummm :) 'animation' if you understand. When finished will have animation built into the Bots. You can have your fun and they should move arms and legs too or maybe will try to make boobs jiggle, not sure. Will work on it when can.

Wonderful news. Linden Lab has posted about progress toward mesh import in Second Life. The closed beta testers are no longer under NDA and can talk about and show results, and if you look on YouTube you can find some very impressive videos.
Why do I mention this here? Because it will be possible to use meshes one creates and imports for avatars. I hope it will mean some of the folks who have done excellent 3D graphics work in the field that interests us here will consider doing something in Second Life.
I personally am looking forward to it. I don't want to have to give up torso length to gain leg length, and while I am eternally grateful to the creators of prim breasts in Second Life and respect the work they do and the beauty of the results, it will be a joy to have breasts that are part of my avatar rather than attachments. (Prim breasts tend to be called "implants" and carry all the bad connotations that they have, however wrongly, in real life.)

We can hope, but don't enumerate your chicken fetuses. Ricky Java's wonderful work doesn't have to render in real time, and there will be a "N vertices = 1 prim" exchange rate for determining costs and what you can put on your land. So... I'm sure that it will be a huge improvement, but maybe not to that amazing level.

It's official. The open beta for mesh in Second Life starts on Wednesday, October 13th. There will be a special version of the client that supports mesh, and a separate grid to sign on to. Once there, you'll find that you have a goodly supply of Linden Dollars--they only exist on the beta test grid, and are there so you can experiment with mesh upload.
I am hoping for a veritable cornucopia of breasts built from mesh and, even better, enormous-breasted mesh avatars.

Lovely! I'd almost buy the studio just for that arm-draped-over-breast pose; prim breasts are typically flagged as "not physical", and having a pose that makes them appear to be physical does a LOT for verisimilitude.

There are many historical, or history-inspired, sims in SL. I took this picture while standing outside a building where one can buy replicas of ancient buildings. I'll make a point of taking a picture in a sim based on the Minoan civilization, where women are encouraged to dress appropriately.

For photographers--there are, I'm sure, way more good ones than I know of. You might want to ask Mesha Sewell who she has take photos of her; her profile photos are stunning. I want to say there's a photographer who has stores in some of the breast-oriented malls, but I can't remember his/her name to save my life. Maggie Bluxome is a wonderful photographer, as you can see if you read her blog.

Looking for "Second Life" I see a thread that goes back to 2007, so perhaps it's time to describe the current state of the art in Second Life breasts.
A major advance in realism, or perhaps verisimilitude is the better term, came with the "sculpted prim". Rather than being a simple geometrical shape, a sculpted prim (in the initial version at least) is like a sphere that you can poke in or out where certain latitude and longitude lines intersect. (Right now there's a move underway to allow mesh import, which I expect will make things even better.) There are a fair number of vendors of prim breasts.
(By the way, prim breasts aren't just for those who want to have enormous breasts. The high end of the size scale for the stock Second Life avatar looks really bad--does anyone, save maybe the Bizarro World version of Lois Lane, have breasts with corners?--so prim breasts allow a pleasing shape over a wide range of sizes, and, at least up until a recent version of the Emerald Second Life client, it's been the only way to jiggle.)
Prim breasts can be scripted, so that they can grow or shrink on command, and even lactate (using "particle generators"). These days, they often come with a heads-up display to control position, size, clothing (a layer around them that can be made opaque or transparent), lactation, and even skin texture and color. Implant Nation (a name I really don't care for--prim breasts are made necessary by the limits of the SL avatar, but I don't like to think of them as implants!) was the first, as far as I know, to create prim breasts with HUDs; nowadays they are a common feature of prim breasts.
Prim breast makers typically provide some tops, and Smashing Prims was a pioneer in making really nice clothing that came with prim breasts that had matching textures, but the use of a clothing layer has made it possible for third parties to create clothing for use with prim breasts, and there's now a flourishing group of makers of such clothing. (I'm hoping that it will expand further, and that there will be more modest clothing to choose from as time goes on.)
You've already heard of Big'Uns and EPIC. There are other establishments dedicated to well-endowed dancers, though to the best of my knowlege, Hooterville, mentioned in another thread, is no more.
There's also a lot of Second Life based machinima--perhaps it would be a good medium for those wanting to do video involving breast expansion?
P.S. Second Life, with its emphasis on user-generated content, is the only virtual world I know of that caters to those who wish to have figures that vary from the mainstream. (Admittedly I'm not totally familiar with the field--I may try Red Light Center, if it will run under WINE (it's Windows-only... ptui!) to see whether it allows one to be well-endowed.

To my mind, the whole concept of 3d generated breasts (especially in MMOs) isn't driven by the realism of the image as much as the suspension of disbelief that the participants follow. In short, give me a game with crappy BE and someone who is willing to act like it's really happening over a well detailed version any day.
But then again if Second Life allows for machinima and a skilled someone takes it for a ride, then you've got my attention.
I would agree but I think it has more to do with style than it does believing in what you're doing. A project that attempts to be realistic will always fail, but a project that maintains its style and is unique enough is a project that will not fail you. This is how I see it. It's a failure of style and genius.
Not to say that realism fails. I think art and things like this are free to go where they want. Impressionism and Realism are part of history. They will continue to be a part of things for the foreseeable future. And even though I said a project that attempts to be realistic will always fail I must also admit before someone mistakes what I'm saying that judged on realism alone it fails but if you judge it on other merits like subject or politics then it might have redeeming qualities that restore its value. I still have my art book from school. One of the things you do when you look at a painting is you look at the history and every element in the painting. The message and the setting and all of these other things come together and can make or break a painting. Whether it's a photograph or just simple a painting doesn't matter much. It's very important it defining how important the work is to people.

I'm not sure what you're saying here, but by all accounts it looks good. Keep in mind that there're many clothes I saw in SL that I liked even though I could see that much of the clothing was a texture. The news that there's another layer on top of it, if I read it right, suggests that clothing would be more realistic. Which is the desired effect. I hope so! As for wrinkles and physics, I love those too, but can't have everything all at once! Patience, young jedi friend!

I'm told that someone did a set of illustrations that intentionally didn't show all the model's breasts; instead they were clipped at the edge of the frame so the viewer could imagine their size as he or she wished. So I was thinking that a blog in the life of a dancer for one of the big bust clubs in second life would be fun as well as informative on the events and goings on in the club. I want to cover events parties and every day happenings. I'm hoping it will generate interest for more people to come check us girls out :P. In addition to that give girls who are thinking about dancing some tips on good emoting weither for expansion or general dancing. Included in this blog will be a side journal titled a day in the life of a labrat. Show casing the events of the eCorp labrats (warning extreme sizes and breast alterations will be in that).
So let me know what you think. So we can bring the clubs back to what they were.

We don't have mesh yet, but we have the official timetable. Barring unforeseen problems, in July some sims on the main grid will be mesh-enabled, and by August's end it should be everywhere.
Time to start on my letter to virtual Santa... :)

I think the avatar physics in the new Phoenix viewer is amazing. Some very realistic breast bouncing and swaying. These are not prim breasts, she just had the size set to maximum.

So far things seem to be going on schedule; there are now some sims on the main grid that have mesh enabled. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I had the great pleasure of hearing from a friend I hadn't talked to for a long time. She told me that I'd encouraged her to get into prim breasts. That's happened a few times, and is one of the great joys of Second Life for me. She said her graphics card was kind of old, so I offered to take some pictures for her to show her just how lovely she is, and she said it was OK to put one up here...

People are already making mesh breasts; we'll see how they turn out in comparison with sculpted prims. Mesh clothing in general is proving problematic, since meshes currently can only adapt to shape parameters that affect the avatar's skeleton. There's a JIRA entry asking that that be corrected.
Now, another thing that went in with mesh is this: the ten-meter limit on the size of prims has been raised to thirty-four meters. (Why thirty-four? Got me--but hey, it's an improvement.) I have some photos that I will put up (one a day!) that I think show that people are taking advantage of that increase.

There's some experimentation with mesh prim breasts going on. Alas, I've yet to see anything... though there are now some mesh avatars out there. A friend who tried it out estimates its measurements as around 50-10-40 (or did she say 50-10-50?); if you love Mlle. Polaire, you'll love this mesh avatar. :) We'll see whether anyone of our inclination takes up the task of doing a full body with large breasts.
While we wait for more advances, here's a photo showing off how lovely a setting one can find in Second Life...

OK, this really isn't about technical advances, but about an odd cultural thing.
One SL tradition is the "Poppins Challenge". On your rez day (the SL analog of birthday), or some other day if you wish, you take a Mary Poppins style umbrella (which is freely available), go to the top of a building or mountain or just way up in the middle of the air (and now I have this urge to go listen to Terrapin Station...), and then descend. Take pictures or shoot video as desired, and emerge from the experience changed.
I finally did it on my fifth rez day about a month ago, and here's one of the pictures I took. I hope you like it.

Right now it's hard to say. I hope that ultimately the avatar will change so that we don't need attachments to get the figure we want. Also, if you take a look over at maggiebluxome.com, Maggie has a post on the subject, and as things stand, she doesn't see much advantage to mesh breasts. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yay! Prim breast maker Icon Allen has come out with version nine of her prim breasts, which are indeed made with mesh.
She reports that they are much smoother and that texture positioning and matching works better. (Making the texture match with the top visible on the torso is very important for verisimilitude, so that is good news indeed.)
In addition, the scripting that controls them is much more efficient--not a visible improvement, but very important; greater efficiency means less of a burden on the sim.
I have no photos to share, alas. I hope to see them soon.

Mesh avatars of interest to those wishing to be well-endowed are starting to appear. To honor the 1-1 rule, I will first post a photo of one of the Wet and Wild mesh avatars, and tomorrow I'll post an image showing (admittedly taller than they probably will be!) what mesh avatars that are under development at Implant Nation might look like.
Clothing for mesh avatars is potentially an issue. Even with the mesh deformer code, I have doubts that clothing not specifically made for busty avatars will work with them. That is, I believe, the case for the Wet and Wild avatars.

Already like the website, it seems pretty nicely done :)
It strikes me that SL isn't really a "game" per say, more a very elaborate chat client in a VR setting. So it's mainly fun for just socializing, or roleplay. As a roleplay tool, it has amazing potential though :)
So far I've enjoyed running around with a figure that I hope to have in real life in a couple years (a more modest 'grapefruit' chest, possible with the regular body shape sliders. But it could be fun to explore more exotic BE fantasy ideas ;) Actually, instead of boobs, I found myself instantly gravitating towards finding some nice hair, makeup, clothes/shoes/accessories, and some movement animations which are more fluid and girly (in that order). And "OMG" it took some self restraint to avoid becoming a mall-whore, and overspending on all the pretty things there are to wear :o
and now i see that there really is a store named after me there O.o actually they probably had the name first.
apparently, unrelated to second life, there is also a Bad Kitty website under construction which uses a font very similar to mine for the logo. and there's the store Bad Kitty Exoticwear, which seems to have been around a while.
I think it's just one of those things, like how many repeats of the name Joe's Diner have probably existed? Quite a few I'd imagine. Of course nowadays, everything's global, and people get bent out of shape over copyrighted nameplates.
hmmm. i wonder if i could buy the Bad Kitty IP? it's barely even started as a website, if it's not recent, then they've really just been sitting on the IP name. but their font is so similar to mine that I almost wonder if they copied me? it's uncanny. anyways...
my nickname Bad Kitty, is just an outgrowth of my gaming handle Attack Kitty (there are many faces of kitty), didn't find out about other people using it till later :)

For many of us, yes, it's a chat with 3D and avatars. It's also a way to experiment with "what would I be like/look like if I [fill in blank]?" or as some people put it, playing dressup with your avatar as the doll.
For others, it's a place to create--and much praise is due them; were it not for them, the rest of us would have a much more limited world to explore.
There are LOTS of SL fashion blogs that cover hair, shoes, prim eyelashes and fingernails, and so forth--so many that I'm sure I don't know the best to recommend. For places to explore, one good source is Caminante de Sueños, http://dorkacaminante.blogspot.com/, chock full of amazing photos of gorgeous places in SL.

well, i am a resident in second life now.
i have worked on my avatar a fair amount, and gotten some dances into a HUD, and some really lovely hair... haven't explored the BE idea yet, or seen anyone else doing that. i need a roadmap to interesting things maybe :P
2 clubs that are a lot of fun are Bosom Buddies and H-Bomb Lounge. BB has events on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. H-Bomb has events Monday through Saturday. The events start at 6 PM PST

technically there are more girls than guys on the internet now.
and while some of that population is tied up in social websites and such. quite a few of us venture out across the internet ;)
even in first person paramilitary shooting games, girls are about 20-25% of the players ;)
sometimes... we don't even mention the fact, so that we aren't hit on or treated oddly...
but i kinda like the odd treatment myself :P call me an attention whore. no wait, that's amateur level... call me fascinating, yeah.

I've been around the intertubes since 1989. Yes folks, way before the web. I remember reading Danni Ashe posts on usenet. Yes, once upon a time alt.sex.* were real discussion groups. Hard to believe now. On MUDs female characters would get lots of help too. It's always been that way. Assume male until proven otherwise is still a prudent way to go IMO. Sure it's not like the old days, but better safe than sorry :)

I guess that needs some background. Some people take it way beyond just role play on a game. People have gone to meet this 'girl' they met through an online game only to be surprised. That sort of thing.

In most cases, it seems as though the ire towards people playing games in a gender they physically aren't.. is based on "viewing all opposite-sex players as sex objects", coupled with deeply engrained homophobic fears.
The former part being a good argument for a girl to play as a male character to avoid objectification. I know many girls who play as boy characters to avoid the sex object, and/or chauvanist crap.
Personally, I'd rather just ignore some of the male attention, and play a role that I can 'get into' more. And as other's have pointed out, some of the male attention is more positive.

well, anyone of any gender could lead someone on falsely.
I don't think that's an issue restricted to cross-gender game playing.
so if you want to say that deliberately leading people on under false pretenses of any kind on the internet is bad... i'm there with ya. I don't see any reason to zero in on someone gender bending in a game specifically though. what you're describing is no different than when you can pay $10,000 to the bank of nigeria to unlock an account worth $200,000... heh. defrauding people is bad mmkay, i don't dispute that.

so relating what you describe, to people who are just playing opposite gender characters, is like saying "driving is bad, because some people use driving in the commission of of crimes". It the same logic error, just a more obvious example of it's erroneous mechanism.

Just check my signature ,hehe. I am very, very skeptic and for me anyone in the net is a guy unless the contrary is proven buuut thet doesn't mean that I am paranoid. I've learnt not to care about a person real sex (in other words: you don't need to try hard if you are pretending to be someone else for me, lol). After all internet is just for fun. Real life is worrisome enough to, besides that, worry about the net life as well (I don't get how, stubbornly, some of my net friends only chat to 'real women' even though it is easy to fool a horny guy, or maybe it was just easy to fool me in the past xDDD).
Now, who is a real female on the net?, many claim to be, and definitely not all are, even less so in porn/porn related sites. The girls who post in 'porn places' are either guys (of course my horse, it doesn't require an 'Einstein' to see that) or girls who have some business (adult entertainers, web models, porn actresses), and even some of those those pay some guys (like webmasters or managers) to post for them (often as the models themselves), in their websites or boards like this (for free publicity often, hehe, as if you didn't know). Of course there are exceptions, they are very few and sparse :( but luckily we have a nice amount of exceptions here at the bea, including some regulars who are not in the adult industry.
Somehow being a female online is very 'prestigious' and indeed helpful. My comment of girls getting more help points in that direction, and considering how males online are quite often often ignored, pretending being a female is a good deal in the mind of a pretender. Males usually find it funny when they are mistaken for females, or at least my friends tell me so. But when you mistake a 'female' for a male, many of such 'females' get angry (that always turns on my 'impostor' alert lol even if they are real females, but I just see no reason to get angry for that and from my point of view that demonstrates insecurity).
Many guys (thinking that they are clever) request for some evidence to demonstrate that a female online is a female in real life. Many guys just request pics, I find it a waste of time and also demonstrate that as requesters they are not as clever as they think. Impostors/female pretenders can be quite crafty when playing a girl.
Anyhow I find that there are several 'levels' in which the pretenders work.
-Level 0: they show off pics of famous pornstars or models, that's a serious lack of imagination and craftsmanship. lol. They are easy to unveil.
-Level 1: I have met a couple of guys who pretended being girls and after some time they revealed they are guys in real life and used pics of their girlfriends, wives, classmates, workmates, local models...in other words less widely known females. Way to many guys fall for this one.
-Level 2: Maybe related to the previous one. The pretenders show off pics of a girl holding a piece of paper/message or posing in certain position asjked by the requester. Interesting enough those pics usually show up days after the request was made (with the cellphones, webcams and other gadgets that should be immediate), maybe because the pretender must get permission from his female friends to fulfill the request. However one note of caution, if the requester gets the pic immediately, there is a chance that you could be indeed chatting to a female or to a guy with a very collaborative girlfriend (and those do exist, some girls are incredibly open and permissive). Many (most?) guys usually fall from this level on.
-Level 3: live voice chat, no video. There is plenty of sound editing software around the net, getting a guy sound like a female is easy if you know how the software works.
-Level 4: Video. A girlfriend or workmate can be recorded and the video used in any moment to prove most people that the pretender is a female. As it isn't live, the pretender may use it or a collection of videos over and over again. The more videos the less likely a pretender will be discovered.
-Level 5: Live video chat. Okay in this stage one should better give up skepticism at this point, however, how do you know that it isn't a guy's significant other playing along with him for a moment. This applies for the occasional/once in a lifetime videochat, of course if the live videochat is regular, then I'd see no reason to be skeptic anymore lol.
I'm not saying that every female in the net is a guy, I am just advising skepticsm to avoid being disappointed in some moment. Just like me, stop asking/requesting enjoy the ride or avoid it. When we are horny we think we are clever, but we are not.
Sorry if i went too offtopic, I just needed to write this down. Also I hope no one takes this personal I was just writing down my thoughts.

I too have had friends come out and reveal themselves that they were male some even put it in their profile, but I still treat them as I always have. No way would I excommunicate anyone because of what they do in the game. That would be just plane rude.
So do I think every female in SL is really female in real life..... No. Do I care no just like the furries I don't see anthromorphic humanoids running around although that would be cool to see :P

I've done it with the intent to do it convincingly for the sake of doing so. Got to keep a lot of stuff vague and let people's own imaginations do the work :) Of course some of the knowledge that one finds in places like this tended to make it more convincing. It's actual women that are most difficult to pull off the role play convincingly with. Guys are easy. Just ignore their advances and offers :). I think I was largely successful in doing so. I could interact with the same people as my regular character and my female character and they couldn't tell. Even people I knew in real life, including a then gf.
On Djoser's post, there's lots of really poorly done ones out there. Photos of models we all know here. Same thing with online dating sites. Tineye is useful for detecting the ones that aren't so well known.
BTW, I've never asked anyone to prove they are female irl. I'll figure it out from interaction and I've not been wrong to my knowledge thus far. "proven" to me is always through interaction.

I think the same, why would i treat someone different? the person is the same even if the character isn't. For me internet is like a huge play where one is a character, one decides if that character is one irl or not, if people plays nice that's all i care about. Sadly sometimes the people that is discovered of being pretending become to embarrassed and abandon their 'girl accounts'.
Just as a warning, i think i was somewhat **92** when i wrote my previous post. Still I don't care about a person rl sex, but I am skeptic of everything and I will always be, and i don't see it bad either, science has advanced because some people was skeptic.

You guys put way more thought into this than I ever have. But then I'm bi, so arguably the issue of caring about someone's gender online, may just be going right over my head. I can't help thinking though, that focusing on it to such an in depth degree is "strange".
Personally, both online, and in my daily life, I'm guilty of pretending to be a semi-normal human female. When in actuality I'm rather very abnormal, along several different axis that one might use to quantify a sentient being. But you know, when in rome... act like the other tailless monkeys.
But that's not really an "act" exactly, there's no active misdirection, just selective omission.

Regarding the marble background pic, and some of the other pics I've seen. Are all of the larger boobs so... "globe-like"? I kinda like a more plausibly natural look myself. Is that possible?
Also, I find the idea of putting really large boobs on my avatar a little awkward. It's akin to some of the same ill defined elusive thought processes that made me reluctant to do a morph of myself in my morph thread. I'm game to tinker around though. And I think it would just be fun to observe how BE RP in SL plays out :)

No, not all of them. Lolas are, IMHO, the best for a natural look, though they can't be cranked up to as outrageous size as others can. I personally love the Foxbean Laboratories "Nadine" breasts--if only the "torpedoes" set had a clothing layer! Even the clothed ones, though, aren't as globe-like as many, and if you read back through this thread, others have said they are good for a more natural look.
I'll attach a photo I took that I think shows Lolas off to really good advantage, so you can get an idea...

As Melissa said no not all look like overfilled beach balls. That is just the look I enjoy. Yes Lolas in my opinion are best for a natural look but also there is the essentials brand that just came out.

Personally, I change tops depending on the look I'm going for. E-Corps Nats (not nat-overfilled) are my preference for day to day and casual. I also have E-Corps Anime Overfilled for when I'm doing (gasp) and anime cosplay. Alternatively, I also have v-strings when I'm going for that silicon, overstuffed, bimbo look.

OK... today I was fortunate enough to meet Bart Seymour of Implant Nation, and he guided me through the use of one of his mesh avatars, which I bought.
Here's one photo; I'll put up another tomorrow, to honor 1-1-1.
Some things I should point out: first, I had to tweak my shape a bit to make things work. I will experiment to see just what I can get away with and what looks best; I love being impossibly tall and leggy as well as having enormous breasts. (Time to talk with the BIGAVS folks a bit about a REALLY long-legged giantess avatar...) Second, I didn't have a handy skin in texture form to apply to the mesh avatar, so I appear in the photos with a tanned skin. Just imagine I got back from a week on one of the SL nude beaches, OK? :) Third, this photo and the one that follows (Bart's; I had just installed the Firestorm FUI beta, and hadn't gotten around to setting graphics) don't show good POV or detail on the mannequin behind me wearing the thong, alas. The stock SL avatar shape is truly bad when it comes to the crotch, and mesh avatars permit a great improvement in that (and other) repsects.
We'll have to see how many clothiers support these avatars. Bart started the clothing layer, which created the market for third-party busty clothing in SL as others followed. I am not sure whether we can move to mesh avatars and have all the possibilities we have with prim breasts (growth or truly extreme size like the royalty of Laurana's Cuties some of which have bustlines well over a hundred feet)--a shame, because sometimes I would love to have my nipples preceding my ribcage by a few meters... but enough of that. Here's today's picture.

It's nothing to do with improvement in SL graphics, but... if you can't save your photos, what good do such improvements do? At some point Linux SL clients started hanging when one tried to save a photo to disk (actually, anything trying to use the file picker). The wonderful folks who bring us the Firestorm client have fixed the problem, and in honor of that I had to take a picture, which I hope you'll like:

So I finally got about to making a demo movie of the slow growth functionality built into Violet Studio's vString prim breast attachments.

This is the mesh version of the vString XXL Super(size) model. I normally wear them at 140% of default size which is about 102" on my avatar for a Cup Size of about 36-JJ^2
I think Hemi, the owner and builder of Violet Studios did a wonderful job with the shape of them, they grow very nicely. I just do the scripting of the breasts.
The Tattoo is from Viicious Bodyart. Vii Bellic is one of the few people in SL who does prim breast tattoos. I think the texture scales very well on Mesh versions of prim breasts.
Prim breasts are a lot of fun but one issue you'll notice from the video is their lots of clipping, you just learn to live with that.
Normally I never growth this fast. When I feel like it, I go out clubbing and grow at 1% per minute or two. That rate good to a long night on the dance floor.
For all your perverts, yes, the slow growth stuff does work during sex, see clipping above. ;) You do not find a lot of breastplay animations in SL and none of them have the well endowed in mind when they make them so major clipping.

By Eve, a store in SL, has clothing inspired by the Middle Ages, so I had to give it a try. BTW, I can now say that this photo (like the last one I put up here) shows Foxbean's new prim breasts, the "Christina" model. If I understand rightly, they are capable of slow growth.

*blush* I've been away from the grid for quite some time. During that time. SL has settled on fitted mesh as the way to go. Fitted mesh attachments honor avatar physics and the avatar sliders. Also. it looks like a lot of clothiers and attachment makers are making things compatible with the Omega applier system, which should make a lot more clothing and other items available to more breast attachment users.
Fitted mesh breasts thus have the advantage of jiggle, and ... but the disadvantage, for those of us who want at least the possibility of 64-meter (or bigger!) breasts, of being constrained by the sliders. OTOH, there are more breast sliders than just size.
