I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is part of the Mojave Desert, and the normal amount of rain is about 4 inches or 10cm per year. During the Summertime it can be normally 100+ Fahrenheit or 40+ Celsius for at least 100+ days in a row and in the Wintertime, it can be a cool 32 Fahrenheit or 0 Celsius for weeks at a time. About 100 miles or 160 Kilometers West of Las Vegas is Death Valley National Park in California where the lowest point in North America, Bad Water is about 300 feet or 90 meters below sea level in which the highest temperature ever recorded in history was 139 Fahrenheit or 59 Celsius back in 1913. Here in Las Vegas, the humidity can be well below 50% even when it rains but we don't get much rain. Nevada is the driest state of the USA.

  I don't think that you'd like the weather here if you came to visit....you'd be wrapped up like a little eskimo , lol !! We're just coming into the 'damp and dreary' season here . It has been very grey and overcast for the last few days....  Temps and such much like yesterday .

I've been to cold places which is why I'll never live in a place that gets really cold. Back in 1986, I was on temporary duty in Adak, Alaska during June and July. Adak was a Naval base which was used to monitor the fucking Russians submarines out of Petropavlovsk in the Kola Peninsula. The base is in the Aleutians islands. I remember that it snowed during the 4th of July. A joke here in America is about shit is bad if it snows here during the 4th of July, our Independence Day from the British. Alaska is beautiful but too cold for me.
