So, SpaceX won the original contract for the Human Landing System for Artemis, but it was only for Artemis III and IV.  For a sustained HLS to the Moon, NASA held another competition where the first winner wasn’t allowed to compete.  Blue Origin won this part the other day with a revised version of their lander.  Thankfully missing was the three story tall ladder.  The new lander has the crew at the bottom.  It’s debatable that this will be ready to fly by 2027, there’s just a lot that needs to be built from scratch in just a few short years and the companies involved have a poor track record in getting anything built quickly.  The Chinese will probably take over the southern crater on the Moon where most of the water ice is and tell us to get lost.

Welcome to the new space race, Jeff.

Crew Dragon as it awaited launch for the current Axiom crew to the ISS.  Notice the massive tower for future Starship launches in the background.

I remember this so well. Not just because of the Ron Howard movie, but because I was 14 at the time.  :)

Interesting design.

The tower for Starship?  Here’s a better idea of what it will look like—this is its twin in Texas using the “chopsticks” to lift Starship 24 into position atop Booster 7

It's also like that with the James Webb space telescope, which was designed to work in infrared up to the color yellow in the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, so all those full color photos shown on TV and elsewhere from the JW are done with a lot of post-processing. :o

The tidal waves that would cause I imagine would scrub the continents clean of everything that is on them. It would possible also effect the moon too. :o

It goes to show you how the natural world can be simultaneously delicate and rugged, safe and dangerous, predictable and unpredictable and how truly powerful and cataclysmic it can be. Fact is humanity, compared to the forces of nature, is quite inconsequential and at its mercy.
