Back in 1998, my mother moved to Las Vegas from West Covina, California, after some asshole gangbanger sprayed some graffiti near where she lived and it frightened her since West Covina was in a slow state of decay. She worked at a near hospital, Queen of the Valley, and had recently retired and she sold her house and moved to a 55+ Senior community here in Vegas. She owned at the time a maroon 1993 Chevrolet Celebr1ty four door sedan, and she lived about 15 miles from where I did at an apartment complex not too far from the strip. I would visit her often and of course, I never let her know about my porn predilection. Anyways, if you guys might remember how there was this talk about the upcoming Y2K computer disaster on January 1, 2000, and how it turned out to be nothing, well, my mom did suffer a disaster that day. She had invited me to her house for a New Years celebration and as I drove to her house and I entered, I didn't smell the turkey cooking and the house was quiet. I then stepped into the kitchen and found her on the floor with her pajamas and bathrobe on and I noticed the spilled coffee was dried out, so I figured it had happened early in the morning. I had worked that day in the Luxor from 7AM to 7PM since Security personnel HAD to work during New Years. She was breathing but I had no idea why she would not respond. I contacted 911 and when the paramedics arrived, one stated that it looked like she had a stroke. She was transported to the hospital and the Doctor in charge there told me she had suffered a stroke on her left side of the brain and so her right side would be paralized. My mother became wheelchair bound, was unable to speak and could no longer take care of herself. Afterwards, I had her car modified so that it could carry a electric wheelchair and I moved into her house so that I could take care of her since after seeing several of those senior warehouses, I decided not to put her in one. In 2005, I sold my pickup truck to my brother who then gifted it to his daughter who then two months later, she wrecked it and the insurance company totaled it. In 2007, my mom's car was dying and so I bought a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu and since it was hard to put my mom into a pickup truck, I bought a sedan. Mom was only 5 foot tall, and I had to pick her up in order to put her in a vehicle. So, a low riding sedan was easier. Mom died in 2010. This photo is exactly what that vehicle looked like.
