Of course, I remember you. I got your e-mail, but my e-mail has been screwey lately. I'll send you a hotmail address soon.

I still morph occaisionally, but not often. I have a backlog of about 300 unposted morphs.

It's kind of funny, you bringing up the name change thing. I am 3 names on that list. I have been, at one time or another

and the infamous Unamorpher (if anyone remembers his short reign of terror)

and I'm sure that I'm forgetting a few.

I go through various phases. Ultrarealistic, really big, etc. I went through a phase where I only morphed unproffesional "street-shot" cameos, which was fun cause it was much harder for people to identify the morphs.

Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" again.

possibly! my original sig was "Gonzo for Bongos" (sorta like "Coo-coo for Cocoa-Puffs", but for boobs). that was too long, though, so it got shortened to gonZo bonGo, then just gonZo, then just to a 'G' symbol. i tried to design a G that also suggested computer imagery, and settled on a PacMan-ish shape. it wasn't always purple; i usually filled it with a predominate color sampled from the photo.

later, when you came along, i started phasing in a DIFFERENT VERSION that didn't look quite so much like yours.

(damn this forum software... there were a bunch of links to old morphs in my first message in this thread, but i'll bet nobody noticed them, 'cause the link color and the text color are both white. i'll go back and capitalize them all.)

BTW did you design the new forum look? Its real nice and i remember Tsunami. Your designs bring a tear to my eye in their beauty.

When I first came found BEA it must of been just at the end of the unamorpher's "reign of terror". For some reason when I started posting to the UG some people posted messages suspecting me of being the unamorpher.

hey, do you have the first jun kusanagi morph i did? she's outdoors behind what looks like an abandoned factory, and the sky is pale pink. that was 4 computers ago, and i can't find the damned thing.

well thank you (but let's not go overboard, ok?). i don't know who did the new forum design... hell, i assumed it was you. Tsunami was supposed to be the design for the whole site --forum too-- but it ran into a little snag (i busted my ass to get a significant chunk of it ready to go online for the BEA's birthday in 2000, but in the last week or so before that deadline, i needed answers to important questions, and nobody would reply to my emails).

(i'd be happy to pick it up where i left off --most of the heavy lifting was already finished-- but i think the owner has probably hired somebody else to do it by now.)

like imaginos says, the old "art" forum was sometimes empty for weeks at a time, but when it was active, it was usually devoted more to the PaintShopPro/PhotoShop side of things than to drawing. somebody would ask a question like "how do you do shadows in PhotoShop?", and people would post 6 or 7 totally different techniques that all worked. and then Friday would come in and describe some torturously complicated method that scared the crap out of everybody else. it was fun.

No gonZo, i'm serious i think your webdesign stuff is just poetry in motion as the saying goes. You have an excellent eye for composition and color balancing and overall esthetic design. Makes me jelous in an admirable way

That forum was for any artist, be they morpher, drawer, cg, animation or whatever....well excpet writers they have their own forum.

Perhaps I can work something out with the Owner and take over the site full time for maintenance and customer feedback/help/support.

you know its funny that i don't really morph. I have a pretty good knowledge of photoshop and have helped other morphers learn. When i was up at Pac's place i showed him quite a few tricks and he in turn shared some cool tricks with me too.

We really should start up that forum again and then i can get the tuts section revamped to make more sense.

it's actually quite a bit brighter than Tsunami was. Tsunami was a sort of deep turquoise (or teal) with blue-violet accents (which is why it was called Tsunami). (it's still on the server where it used to be, if you remember where that was.)
