On this day of fireworks and celebration and indulgences (root beer floats, ahh!), I stop by here looking forward sometime this year to spectacular indulgences of a different kind.  Offhand I forget -- is Pink Lisa in the strip?*  She seems to be around here a lot today.  Anyway, if nothing else I notice that Nim seems a little less classically reticent these days, and I hope that's a good sign. 8)

Yes, Tenshi has asked ever so sweetly twice now, so how about it? ;)

As we draw close to the third anniversary of my Melanie finding herself in a "deflated" condition (and rather curiously blonde), I once more look in on that charming and enduring album of BEA avatars that is the KC Strip and once more salute its masquerade spirit on Halloween.

I really can't get very sore.  Melanie has a people?  And a crown?  And it's in jeopardy?  Do tell!  (This reminds me bizarrely of D-Cup Magazine's short-lived Queen Gazonga.)  In two months I'm not going to be around, though, so anything new this year would be maximally groovy.  But fear not, I will always be looking on from afar -- and I'm not planning on getting myself banned either. 8)

Yes we are still here and yes we intend to continue and yes Kithara is still dealing with real life health issues.
All of this is lame day-to-day stuff that is simply too much of a downer to share and tends to clear the room and drain all the fun... So on that fun note we give you a little sample taken from some future posts of the story.
Think of it as a little Halloween treat for all the kiddies here...

Things here have been running oddly parallel to the storyline as of late so the eagerness to draw what is happening in real life as it were has not been forthcoming or the most fun... well except that it does not take place in an alternate reality of darkness and desolation... come to think of it our garage might just qualify...

For those who have asked:
Kithara is doing "better" as we have, as of last week, just finished a long run of different heavy hitting meds. They left her feeling, in her own words, "poopy!"

I think it's fair to assume that all our hugs and best wishes continue to go out to our Chief Bunny.

You know, there's never any telling just how well this could turn out.  I made a lousy suggestion of literature earlier, so hopefully this is a better one.  As a kid I grew up on all the English-translated Tintin adventures, but there was a period when, while much of the world loved Tintin and Snowy and Captain Haddock, Herge, the master writer-artist behind it all, was feeling bleak and depressed and quite slave-driven by the whole process.  He allowed all this to express itself in an interesting way.  Chang, a Chinese boy whom Tintin had befriended in an earlier adventure (and who had a real life counterpart in Herge's own life) was presumed dead in a plane crash in the Himalayas.  However, Tintin gets a vivid telepathic dream that Chang is alive, and embarks on a journey to find him.  This permitted Herge to draw bleak yet spectacular mountain vistas, and when the Abominable Snowman shows up he is, relatively speaking, almost a comic relief.  It is an adventure that is unusual even by Tintin standards, but very fulfilling, and Herge found it therapeutic.

Whatever therapy Kithara needs, let her go to it.

Tenshi - wow! Thanks so much for the artwork! Kithara and I had barely been on-line this last week and so we just saw the handiwork yesterday.

Kithara said, "Is that me?... is that me! Oh my! That is meeeee!!!"

So I think that it had the desired effect. I said she needed to respond and she said she would (it was late that night and she was almost in bed).
She is doing better this week and you are part of that improvement - thanks!
Anyway, she promises to respond in person soon.

I am assuming that is a modified Poser model. Love the background image too, looks like something from Shrek or Tangled.

Appreciate the work, the effort and most of all the motivation.
You get a big bunny hug!!!

I could kick myself for letting the proverbial Season slide by here -- I've been preoccupied -- but I send best wishes of that Season barely a week belated in time for the new year, for which I also make best wishes, for everyone including myself, and so many fellow strip members, but always ultimately Kithara.

At this moment I will make no nudge for the strip, and instead simply concentrate on Kithara feeling safe and warm and loved.  I hope Tenshi or someone will take up this thread.  Should I ever find that the party has continued -- and that my Melanie is any closer to be reunited with her original abundance -- I will consider that a sweet surprise.  In any event, Kithara evidently upgraded her to royalty.  I would suggest that it may have taken a certain royalty to begin with to come up with the idea.  Keep warm, bunny queen.

Too bad this isn't getting updates anymore. Well, I know what it's like to be too busy.

So true Shara. the last few years have been a challenge. The odd thing is there have been few major changes just a odd mix of events all just a bit to close together and with just enough duration to disrupt what we had expected would be happening in our lives.

What makes it most difficult is that one can not point to any single event or day and say, "Ah, that is when it all got screwy."
It has been a collection of difficult to anticipate happenings that have kept us just unbalanced enough to prevent any sense of stability.

Kithara has repeatedly said we need to get this story going again. She really does miss you all and the interaction. She has been the one to push for more art, more story, an expanded format, a stand-alone web site, etc. Kith is the one who whats to express more.

So we are in a state of limbo - with sufficient drive but insufficient time and on some days with little energy.
Great to hear from you Shara and Tenshi and Druul...
