I have a distinct feeling that website is generating traffic through cheesecake and likely going to keep whatever profits and run at some point.

I might just adopt a girl to be my model as some point and do it in one fell swoop. More realistic and not prone to silicon rupturing, but less eager than a real doll to pose often ^_^;;

A sex change operation for US$5K?!?!?! Only in fantasy land maybe... or else the results look like one of those linebackers named "Shanequa" down on Santa Monica Blvd, complete with a bulge in 'her' crotch and a bad case of 5 O'clock shadow! A NORMAL (not Score sized) boob job by a reputable surgeon can easily run $US5K all by itself.
 
A sex change op (which you can't even get done in the US without a costly commitment to multi-year psychological counselling, a regimen of hormones and living as a woman for months or years beforehand) is a BIG expensive procedure: "gender reassignment". You can't just stick in some implants, chop off the weiner and viola: you're a girl! I have no concrete idea, but I strongly suspect that reputable (i.e.: with some chance for a good result by experienced surgeons/clinics) GA procedures cost more like six figures (US$100K+) by the time all is said and done, and in some cases probably several times that sum.
 
This is like the rumor that each of Chelsea Charm's boobs weighs 25 pounds EACH! Yep, 50 pounds of breast on an otherwise 100+ pound woman... right. And sex change surgery for half the price of a Kia Rio? Not unless you're talking about third-world-country, back-alley surgery... the kind of thing that I can do for my patient in my basement with a set of X-acto knives and a couple of ziplock baggies filled with lime Jello.
 
Maybe 'facts' like these so often seem to be taken at face value because folks WANT them to be true? I don't know. I don't mean to sound like an ass (but if I do, it's not going to keep me up nights when it comes from disputing this kind of ridiculous misinformation) but come on, why not evaluate a claim's veracity using the common sense that God, evolution and/or your parents and teachers gave each one of us BEFORE passing the purported fact along for others to willingly consume? Just an idea.

Well, if you wish to be specific, standard US prices are about $30,000 for Male to Female and $70,000 for Female to Male. Hormone therapy is considered a seperate cost from the surgery.

TS Specialty centers however are cheaper than that. Plastic surgeons charge for essentially how much their time is worth, how much they think their cutsomer can pay, and how esoteric the operation is. Specialty places can process patients quicker, tend to be working class patients, and for them it's near routine, so it's cheaper there. That $5,000 quote is old however, it's probably $8,000 now. That's a hosiptal in Wisconsin, or somewhere upper mid north USA if I remember right.

If the combination doesn't make sense, know that most of the actual costs come from anisthetics, stay/care, and insurance. It's very economical for a doctor to do both while the patient is out.

The actual operation itself is only a few hours, then the patient is released the next day and advised on how to use stints. For those that travel to a specialty clinic, they generally stay two weeks there and consider it a recovery vacation.
