I wish I had some money... I wish I had even a couple of pennies I could send.   Got my bank statement today and there is a big minus symbol in front of the numbers. I have a couple of days left, I will think of something to send...

You've got the right attitude, Ag.  (By the way: great avatar!)  Actually, you should send only what's comfortable; don't get impractical, that just hurts anybody.  But as I've been suggesting, think of this mainly as a chance to send a note, then include a token of appreciation.  Money may be the priority here, but moral support ain't hay either.  How many letters DOES she get from England, I have to wonder?  Your postmark alone may perk her up.

By the by, she makes a GLORIOUS display in the latest Score (technically the April 2007 issue) -- I think I'll raise that down in the main thread.

So ... I would like to officially announce the Match Game is over. What, over? Yes ... I met with Vix tonight, after having discussed it with my partner, and felt it would be right to give her the $5000 now (mostly because I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to shell out 39 cents for a stamp). In my view, it wouldn't be right though to just give her the money without meeting the requirement, considering how many have contributed so far ... so first I covered the remaining difference up to 5000.

What does this mean for people still sending money, or who plan on sending money? Go right ahead. Vix will still need assistance, and will be appriciative of it. But what about my whole spiel about what you can comfortably afford? I would like to thank my partner (and Vix passes on her thanks), as he covered the lion share of the match game, which allowed me to feel comfortable shoring up the difference. I will still stress that other people (namely you .. yes you reading this right now), if you are going to send something, should only send what you are comfortable sending (even if it's just a Get Well note), and no more. Don't want undue stress on anyone.

Munch, I just had to say Thanks to you for what you did for Vixen.  I sent a tiny bit, nothing in the scheme of things but it was what I could do and its just nice to know that someone like you and your partner stepped up to help take care of a friend in need.

Vixen has my well wishings and prayers for what good they will do. If I were not unemployed I'd send her some money.

Vixen is heading down next week to get a final check nad possibly her first surgery to get fixed up.  

All her current med bills are covered thanks to everyones efforts here and at her site.
