First, thanks for the cap! I saw this commercial and thought she was cute (not slender, and kinda funny in that costume, but cute nonetheless) and was going to mention it here... you beat me to it!

Let me compliment you on the quality of your screencap. May I ask how you made it? I assume you have cable or satellite (not broadcast) since it's so clear. What kind of capture card/device did you use? Did you tape it first and then cap, or cap 'live' into the computer. Again, I'm impressed with the sharpness of the image and appreciate the info.

My setup:
I have my pc in the basement, where the Time Warner cable tv cable comes into the house, and take one of the cables off of the splitter and hook a cable directly into my ATI card, and cap directly into the pc. I need to clean out my hd, only have about a gig free at the moment.  

I'm using a 1ghz Athlon, 320 megs o' ram, with an ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon card. I believe the video card is capable of up to 500 lines of resolution, don't remember for sure. If I had an empty 30+ gig drive, I could record whole movies to the hd, the ATI card comes with its own version of programmable tv software.  

I lost a bunch of A&E's Cleavage screen caps last night because the damn pc froze up on me, happens occasionally. I defragged my hd two months ago, and now I'm dropping frames sometimes on vidcaps, go figure. I also get better reception on some channels than others, been considering going to a dish setup, most people I know that have them like 'em.

I'm also lusting after the new ATI 9700 All-In-Wonder card, would buy one if I could round up the cash, but any money I have right now is goin' for presents to others.

Thanks for the info and again for the caps. The thrill of spotting some comely lass of generous proportions on television is akin to that of making such a sighting on the street.... there's that brief rush of discovery, followed by the glow of appreciation. The upside of a television sighting (vs one at the mall or market) is that the television/movie sighting is usually devoid of the depression of unattainibility that generally follows a real-life sighting. JMHO of course.

As I have an iMac, I must rely on external devices for caps, and from what I've read none are that great or cost effective. Guess I'll have to wait till I get a G4 before I can indulge myself with that particular distraction.

Every once in a while I send a request to ATI to make an All In Wonder board for the Mac. I also have an iMac at home, and an ol' PowerCenter Pro(mac clone)upgraded to a G3/400 with a vidcap card in it from Formac; and use G4s at work, G4s that I also have access to anytime after hours for gaming or whatever. There was a rumor a few months back that ATI may make an All In Wonder board, but so far that is all it is, no confirmation at all.

I'm sure you know more about this than I do, but did Apple put Radeon cards by ATI in some G4s? I think they did/do (then they went to nVidia GeForce and then something else now I think) but probably those cards weren't All-in-wonder cards w/tv tuners and capture capabilities.

Yep, but not All-In-Wonder cards. Accelerate Your Mac website has info on such things, Mac folks complain from time to time there about no AIW cards for Macs.

A few years ago, a friend of mine had a rather odd model of Macintosh.  It still used a CD caddy to load CDs and it was single piece machine (monitor and box designed to look like 2 parts, but are really fused together like the Performa 520 to 580) that came in black (this was a really interesting thing considering that this was prior to the 20th Anniversery Mac and the iMac).  It was called the MacTV.  It had a RF port on the back of the machine and a simple keystroke (or a press of the creditcard sized remote) would send it into TV mode.  Where the built-in microphone would be on the monitor of most Macs of that generation, it had the IR eye for detecting command input from the remote.

On that same site, here's a rumor report about a new low-end G4-based Mac called the iClassic to be released in Jan with a base price of $799. Interestingly, it comes with a slot for an optional TV-tuner card, which is supposed to enable to-disk captures.
