"My lead doctor has refered me to a doctor in Mexico.  My needed treatments are not allowed by the U. S. FDA... & CAN be done in Mexico.

"Every doctor i saw told me the same thing... "you will die, if anything gets any worse."

I do not want to sound like an ass, so don't take this the wrong way - it's great that she gets such huge financial support from caring members here - but why doesn't she have health insurance to cover these things? It seems like a very dangerous, life-threatening illness to me, and she doesn't seem to be the kind of person who couldn't afford health insurance in the first place.

That question just bugged me for some time.
I hope she gets well soon!

Actually my friend, you would be shocked if you knew how many people in the USA do not have health insurance. Which is why universal healthcare is such a big political deal. But enough of that.


IIRC, Vixen does not have health insurance because she said that she couldn't afford it, or something along those lines. I partially remember back when her ordeal started that she mentioned something about her lack of insurance.

I remember some years ago a former boss of mine was complaining about how his health insurance premium was going up to $800.00 a month! Sure he was older (mid 60s), and wasn't in the greatest of health, or having the best habits health wise (he was also a drinker and smoker), but thats still a whole hell of a lot of money to pay out each month. And that was just for him! His then wife's coverage was just as much.

Living in the USA without insurance is a huge and terrible gamble, and when you gamble and lose, the results are never pretty.

I can only hope that Vixen can make out of this ordeal safe and sound, and at a minimum return to good health, if not heal completely.

Yes I know about that it is a problem in the US, and I'm glad it is finally addressed with movies like Sicko. I just think it's odd that a young and healthy person like Vixen who makes good money as a stripper, can't afford it, but can afford boobies that probably cost her well beyond 10000 dollars in total. I mean, I'd rather pay, lets say, 200 bucks a month for health insurance, than end up with surgery costs that could bankrupt me - especially when I have a higher risk of getting ill due to overly large brast implants anyway.

Seems to me many Americans are pretty careless about their own health, and would rather pay off huge SUVs each month than invest some money in health insurance. My brother lives in Hawaii, and he has plenty of young neighbors who rather save the money monthly insurance fees would cost, and choose to spend it on partying or oversized cars instead.

On another hand:
Maybe a normal health insurance doesn't cover illnesses that are directly related to unnecessary surgical procedures such as breast augmentations. Though I don't know that much about US health care, it's just an assumption.

Vixen just posted on her website - she's heading to Guadalajara tomorrow, and will arrive at 5:00am(!) on Monday.  She's pretty scared about the whole ordeal, and I can't blame her.

Regarding insurance, it's true that insurance is very expensive, and many people may not think about coverage - while they're healthy.  Unfortunately, once we fall ill, it's too late to get insurance, and we have to scramble any way we can to get the $$$ needed.

I thought of the movie Sicko too while reading this topic.  Didn't want to tear attention away from Vixen.  Though I don't know her I still pray everyday for her.

Being able to afford insurance is one thing, getting covered is another.  There is a huge list of reasons insurance companies have not to cover someone.  

Anyway I just want to show my support and not go off on a tangent.   Vixen you are in mine and many others prayers.

To answer the question about Vixens implants and her ability to get them. She was able to work and saved for them.  Because of her illness she has been unable to work for the last 10 months.  

Her savings are gone.  The money we collected for her is also gone, and her last operation put her $7000 in the hole.  This one by going to Mexico will run her (est) $4000 - $5000.  For those able to help her she needs whatever we can afford to send her.

I love fake boobs just as much as most members here, but it makes you think about your own fetish.
Is it morally right to promote such body modifications and encourage women to get them, if they endanger the health of our favorite models?

I'm not sure about say "catastrophic health coverage" or something along those lines.  However, I can say that with the insurance plan I have at work, which is not all that great of a plan, between what I pay and what my employer contributes, the insurance company is essentially collecting something like $16000 per employee per year.

In essence, Vixen's implants were cheaper than a year of my health insurance.
