Thing is, that photo was from the 80s and while they want their hairstyle back, they're still waiting.

And that's her best argument....
Dawn, n.  The time of day when men of reason go to bed.

Pray, v.  To ask that the laws of the universe be annulled in behalf of a single petitioner confessedly unworthy.

I heard that McCain wanted to choose his favorite lapdog Liebermann to be his running mate but the evil powers that be that follow Karl Rove wanted him to choose Mitt Romney, so in his typical impulsive way, McCain said, "Fuck it, I'll choose someone no one has ever heard of -- Sarah Palin".

Why do I get the feeling that McCain chose her, over many other much better qualified women (if he absolutely positively needed to choose a woman, that is), only so that he could throw the election? If he'd chosen a good VP, and lost, he'd have to admit that he was no good in the first place, but this way, he could throw up his hands and say, "Well, I gave it the old college try, but that colored guy, he's too smart for me...it's not my fault!"

I wonder why you care since you clearly are voting for Obama -

The fact that Republicans are somewhat excited about the ticket now should be clear enough as to why he chose her. There was no way he was going to win if he chose another moderate like himself, or Romney, who is somewhat of a conservative fraud.

Maybe you forgot that it was the left wing of the Democratic party that selected Obama, and that Clinton crushed him in many primaries down the strecth, and that many of his primary electoral votes were won through caucuses where his "community organizing" skills were vastly superior to Clinton's, and that the early primaries were won before Rev. Jeremiah Wright came onto the scene. The general election is a vastly different animal, and perhaps, just perhaps, the media will give coverage to Obama's connections to domestic terrorist William Ayers in that sterling model of a political society, the great city of Chicago.

bwaaaahhhh!

That avatar is funny. It's angry baby Chaplin with emo hair. Though I guess technically it's should be censored because that baby appears to be under 18, wait does that rule apply to avatars?

Anyhow, "Sarah Palin" is an anagram for "Plain as Rah". And as we know, Rah was the deity that most people worshiped when McCain was a young man working on Khufu's Pyramid.

That baby has a hell of a fist.  And who are all those people behind him?

I figure it's trying to morph McCain into Hitler -- which I would consider outrageously unjust, and which I can't help but imagine that he would consider even MORE outrageously unjust.  So some clarification would help.

No one has helped with this, but I continue to note that Sarah's maiden name is Heath, like a fairly recent British Prime Minister.  Also, I notice that she has a sister with the married name Heather Bruce.  I thereby find myself quite naturally thinking of Sarah as "the Sister of Heather Heath," which I think has a nice murder mystery ring to it.

I guess they mean, "the discovery of plutonium"; the element was isolated for the first time in 1940.

You are, of course as wrong about that as you are about anything else in American politics. Obama and Biden were the most conservative candidates in the Democratic race, just as McCain was the most liberal in the Republican race.

In that sense this year was pretty much like each election since 1968 has played out.

That's arguable; theoretically it is regularly created in the death spiral of stars, but it is unlikely it was present on earth after the formation of the continents, until the guys at UC-Berkley created it in the early 1940s.

There was a great book written about it in 1965 or so,  The Transuranium Elements, about the work.

What can't be denied is that McCain will be the last presidential candidate who has a living memory of hearing the news of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Look. I'm old. I'm so old that I remember the Korean War; McCain remembers WW II.
