Here in Vegas, in a restaurant, if a parent or a legal guarding shares his/her alcoholic beverage with their teenage son/daughter they may do so as long as they are 16+ years old but they cannot buy a separate drink for the minor. Also, they cannot get them intoxicated otherwise the Police will be called and the Parent/guardian will be charged with **09** endangerment. Most of the USA, you just can't serve a **09** under any circumstances except in the privacy of your own home but if you get the **09** intoxicated and it is reported by a nosy neighbor, you can be arrested.

In the UK it is legal to give a 5-17 year-old booze if it's in a private location with a parents/guardians consent and supervision.


15-17 year-olds can drink in a pub if a) the drink is with a meal and b) a parent/guardian is with them and buys it.

Anyone here old enough to remember Rod McKuen? Poet and songwriter, he was EVERYWHERE in the late 60s - early 70s.

A Grammy award. Two Oscar nominations. Songs he wrote topped the charts. 60 million books sold worldwide.

It's still an itty bitty island, country.  Seriously, there is YouTube channel called Lost in the Pond by Lawrence Brown, a British expat living in Chicago, and he compares Britain to the USA and one thing that stuck on me that he said, in America 100 years is a long time while in Britain it's only a little while ago and in Britain 100 miles is a long car trip while in America it is not far at all.

Remember Robocop?  Phil Tippit was the animator who animated the big robot.  Peter Weller played the man who became the cyborg.  Had a bit of a reunion recently.
