Not too far off reality.  They actually used things like that back in the 16th-17th centuries.

That's weird.  There's a small amount different between them, so the artist put in the effort to paint each one, but it defeats me why he would then make them so similar.

As a Sailor, what I see are ships of the same class but perhaps different block class. A good real life example of that is the Virginia class of nuclear submarines. The Block 1 commissioned in the mid 2000's are similar but different to the newest which are the Block 5 which will be commissioned in the mid to late 2020's even though they are derived they are internally different due to advances in technology.

Artist inknown, but I’m thinking’ it sure looks like Moebius’ style!  It’s either by him or someone ripped him off.  That bird is the giveaway.  Where’s my airtight garage?
