Even the atheists, Jews, Muslims, Tarvuists, Pastafarians, Buddists, etc?

Yes. Like Christmas you can enjoy it even if you are a unbeliever, pagan or whatever.  :)

As an atheist, I do nothing...just another Sunday.

Exactly, like Christmas and Easter these originally pagan festivals had christian veneers superimposed on them so as to make it more palatable to the indigenous peoples of northern and central Europe. They are not unique to Christianity but rather creative social conglomeration holidays that own there persistence to the much older deep rooted naturalistic belief systems.

That is how you get all the various "flavors" of holidays. It also is how one gets a resurrection story along side decorated eggs, rabbits and a date fixed by the lunar calender.

This is true for most persistent holidays across the world - they are amalgams referencing basic seasonal and simple symbolic motifs that have been adjusted to fit the social norms of the moment. The way any one holiday is observed changes over time and even from place to place in any given year.

I wonder how humans will celibate Easter in 3000 years as they did 3000 years ago.

One of the two or three cartoons I love the most shows two cannibals cooking a guy in a big kettle. In the distance a missionary is waving a crucifix. One **72** says to the other, "I think he wants us to broil him on a stick!"

Incidentally, as a Greek atheist of my acquaintance let me know, this year, unlike practically any other year, the Eastern and Catholic/Protestant Easters coincide.
