My kids and I have been big fans of superhero stuff for time immemorial, so I am quite happy for the MCU elevating the quality of superhero movies to the standard it is today. It's amazing that Marvel's phase 4 feels lackluster while a pre-MCU superhero movie landscape would have made watchers salivate so much they'd drown.

DC is making movies that meet the quality standard of pre-MCU as an example. Think of the Fox-movies or the pre-Disney Sony-movies. If those were the three big players we'd probably still accept it. Fact of the matter is: Disney has elevated the expectation of a superhero movie due to consistent delivery in quality and an unbelievable quantity. Pre 2008, if lucky there'd be one superhero-adjacent thing a year, and you'd watch it, and it'd suck, but hey, superheroes! Daredevil, Elektra, Spider-man 3, X-men 3, Blade 3, Steel, Catwoman, Batman & Robin. Were any of those movies good? No? Did we watch them? Well... I did. If a Justice League or even a Black Adam released against THOSE everyone would think it's the greatest thing ever. Sadly for them they released against the Avengers and the rest of the MCU.

The MCU now is safe. DC has no way of doing dethroning them any time soon. I hope James Gunn can revamp this DCEU in a slightly less insulting product, but in all fairness DC Mythos as a whole is a broken mess, so it's a toss-up. MCU is now in an experimental phase, superhero-x-horror, superhero-x-filmnoir, superhero-x-fantasy, superhero-x-thriller. A genrebending meta of things to try, to break the formula and reinvent itself. That's why phase 4 feels slow.

Yet, I think, it also lends itself to a new thing, where watching 'everything' is for the die hards, and where small niche-pockets are created for new people to join the fandom. Kamala Khan was (sadly) panned by small-minded fans, but she won the hearts of many youngsters and for the people who cared, showed off facets of a culture not everyone gets to see every day. Werewolf by night: ever thought you'd see a NEW black and white horror movie, on a disney budget? And my most debatable pick: She-hulk, or as I call her my green lil sister. The show was funny, meta, tried and, in my opinion, stuck the landing on many new things. We all enjoyed the show, the ending had us in stitches.

In conclusion: I can't wait to see what Marvel's experimental phase will build to, consider phase 4 a new phase 1 (who would want to watch thor 1 and 2 nowadays?) and I reallllyyyy hope that DC will get its shit together so that the competition will light a fire under both their asses.

You've said it all, shara. And I agree with you.

I love the MCU but it and we all need a Distinguished Competition, if for nothing else to act as a comparison and as a counterweight to. I really want the DCEU to get out of its current funk. How they've treated Henry Cavill has been quite unfortunate, today he's in, tomorrow he's out, next day he's in again. In my opinion, he's the best post-Christopher Reeve Superman on film, and they're gonna throw him away. (He'll be OK though - I'm sure the people at EON Productions are reaching out to him to become the next 007.)

Phase 4 of the MCU has been uneven at best, but it's really acting as a bridge to the next big MCU-wide saga to tell about the rise of Kang the Conqueror. Just as Ant-Man helped bring time travel into the MCU, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will help herald Kang into the movies (just as Loki helped bring in one of his variants, He Who Remains, into the TV shows).

PS: I love Love LOVE Kamala Khan and She-Hulk, and they're two of the greatest additions to the MCU.

The new version of Night Court debuted a few days ago and I didn’t watch because I had no idea it was on.I read some reviews and it’s pretty much what you would expect.Gone are the hookers and sexy women you would see walk by in a scene or in the courtroom.One reviewer who was a fan of the old show said the courtroom looks like the audience you see in a Judge Judy audience.
I miss the days when there always seemed to be a tv show that had women in swimsuits and slutty clothing and cleavage everywhere.Even the reality type dating shows feature nothing but anorexic girls with small tits.

Well,there’s a new version of that show and I watched about 6 episodes of it and it’s horrible.No hot girls and most of the episodes feature same sex dates.In the original show,if there was a hot girl with big tits you could guarantee that she would be getting into a bikini at some point in the date.Like,what happened to tv?

Another Aliens movie coming.
The untitled project joins the prequel series, which first premiered in 2012, with “Prometheus,” followed by “Alien: Covenant.” The prequel series is the latest iteration, and follows the original series which began in 1979, with “Alien,” followed by “Aliens,” “Alien 3,” “Alien Resurrection,” and then the crossover series which began in 2004, with “Alien vs. Predator” and “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.”

While the production date has been announced for next week, the untitled project has yet to set a premiere date.

The Marvels (Official Teaser Trailer #1), the sequel of 2018's Captain Marvel and a continuation of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel (2022), was originally going to be released on 28 July 2023, but it's been pushed forward to 10 November 2023.

Yesterday on 4/4/23, I saw the original 1981 Indiana Jones, Raiders of the lost ark, in the movie house and it is much better than seeing it on TV. The new Indiana Jones coming soon hopefully might be better than the Crystal Skull one. We shall see.
