Hate to say it, but the Yanks are sinking like lead in water. I use the Cub Fans ole saying that been working for the last century "Wait till next year!"
I hope the Rays get to the World Series for this might be their only year, I hope not, they have a good team
Also the Cubs, because of Lou Piniella, Ted Lilly, Alfonso, Jason Marquis and Jim Edmonds and Dam a hundred year drought, is just to much.
And the LA Dodgers to See Joe Torre, Larry Bowa and Don Mattingly stick it to George and his sons Hank and Hal and of course Cashman.

I'd like to see:

Angels
Twins - a great organization that really knows what they're doing
Rays
Red Sox (wild card - just to stick it to the arrogant Yankee fans)

Dodgers - See? Joe Torre really is a fine manager!
Cubs
Mets
Brewers (wild card - because they deserve it with the trades they made)

Oh Yeah, I forget about the Met's, that if their bullpen doesn’t screw up again, like last year
And the Angels they always hot in the regular season, but turn lurk warm in the play-off's

One of the local sportscasters was feeling really upbeat about the Mariners tonight. He got almost poetic about how they're losing by much smaller margins...
Someday, chi1dren, this entire fuck-up will be yours.

Heh, heh, heh.

Good luck with that.  Also, ESPN said tonight that the Mets are 3 for their last 43 with the bases loaded.  That won't help your pitching staff much.  Now you're done playing the creampuff schedule in August.  Let's see how the rest of the month goes......

Today the Big Unit pitched a gem of a game but his pen gave it up yet again.  He recorded 13 Ks, giving him 212 starts with 10+ Ks, second only to Nolan Ryan with 215.

Phils faced Greg Maddux for the 2nd time in a row (as far as Maddux was concerned) and today we fed him his lunch.

Unforunately, the Mets won, so nothing of importance changed.  The Skankees even won, though Mussina started (pitched not so well, got the ND).

Tonight the Phils dropped the envied 13 hit shutout on the Dodgers (14 hit shutout only happened twice in baseball history, not since 1923), so we're a half game behind the Mets moving into a 2 game series with them.  Davai!

Truly.  Phils lost the first 2 vs the Cubs, though anyone could have won them going in.  So now the Phils are playing the team with the best record in the majors and the best record at home for 4 games.  Mets' schedule in September is...not nice.

So we feel we'll make up time.

The Mets have started doing what they've been failing to do for some time: score late in games. That gave them wins over the Marlins and Brewers.

The Nats have won a bunch in a row, the latest coming at the expense of the Phillies. That's the way to be a spoiler!

Now that minor league callups will come into play, it's really a scrum if you're about 3-5 games within each other.

Though I still think it sucks that we lost against the Nats today.  No one should ever lose vs. the Nats.
