@ Andrat and rtpoe: I'm not 100% convinced by this article (from 3 days ago), but it's definitely worth your consideration...

      Trial Balloon for a Coup?
About this from your article posted:
"they never intended to hold it for too long. It wouldn’t surprise me if the goal is to create “resistance fatigue,” to get Americans to the point where they’re more likely to say “Oh, another protest? Don’t you guys ever stop?” relatively quickly."

Well for this a German journalist already assumed this tactics, too:
http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/web/donald-trump-und-fake-news-empoert-euch-aber-richtig-kolumne-a-1131666.html

http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/web/protest-gegen-trump-selbst-organisieren-kolumne-a-1132713.html

Sorry can't translate this, use google translate. But he also believe it is a tactic to create a lot of trouble and get the people quickly loose interest due to overloading them because it will occupy too much of their time and energy. And he will early see who to fire because they do not obey his commands.

And I'm pretty sure this is a coupe preperation. Also asking for lists of people before the inauguration. The unwillingness to attend a proper transition from old to new administration. They had no plan to continue work with them. They wanted to install a new command hierarchiy. And that the altright involved in the new administration (especially Bannon et. al provided the master plan for this) were pretty much thinking how to do a coup even when courts, checks balances, constitution exitsts can be bypassed. I told earlier that Trump in his inauguration never used the word democracy, constitution and parliament (or in US-case congress and senate) or valued this democratic institutions tells me a lot.

If he succeeds this will be the biggest and most powerful totalitary nation ever. That Austrian/German guy will look childish compared to Trumpel. But that little guy also had his own security organization. First SA (Sturm-Abteilung), later SS when he became unhappy with SA (Schutz-Staffel) and he had the GESTAPO (Geheime Staats Polizei). Does this somehow sound familiar with what the article above mentions about Trumps plans of security forces and new secret services only reporting to him?

The crazy thing is, as long as the US is in the NATO all NATO partners would have to go into war even if only a civil war in the US would start. The only question would be on which side?

And I hope all big US technology companies with their people and families have a plan to flee the US before this coup happens.

Kim Albrecht put together an interactive chart of all the Trump connections. This is the link. Click on a name to see where it fits.

"He sits motionless, like a spider in the centre of its web, but that web has a thousand radiations, and he knows well every quiver of each of them. He does little himself. He only plans. But his agents are numerous and splendidly organised. Is there a crime to be done, a paper to be abstracted, we will say, a house to be rifled, a man to be removed – the word is passed to the Professor, the matter is organised and carried out. The agent may be caught. In that case money is found for his bail or his defence. But the central power which uses the agent is never caught – never so much as suspected." Sherlock Holmes on James Moriarty, "The Final Problem" by Arthur Conan Doyle

Trumpel can't even do a 1 hour phone call with the leader of an other nation without being abusive to him. After 25 minutes he ended a phone call with the Australian Prime Minister, because he didn't accept the footman job Trumpel tried to give him.

How will this end? Nuclear bombs on Australia because he is an angry man with a heart full of hate?

I wish government would let women control their own bodies.

And how do you feel about mandatory vaccines? Should government truly let women control their own bodies?

False equivalency. Any individual's rights to avoid vaccination are limited when his/her potential contagion threatens other people not participating in the individual's decision. Same cannot be said of contraception/abortion issues. There's a vast difference between an act that endangers others and an act that merely offends them.

So abortion doesnt endanger another person? I wont turn this into an argument of whether a "fetus" or "unborn baby" at either 1 month or 9 months in is considered a person....

This comes down to the fact that the only thing "false" here was the first initial statement/belief of: "I wish government would let women control their own bodies."
Imagine if Obama, Kamala, or Biden survived two assassination attempts and the media not publicly destroying the reputation of everyone who issued even the most mild criticism of them and then just dropping the story completely.

Yeah, I cannot either.

What's being said in the Sydney Morning Herald:

Quote
Speaking from Singapore, former foreign minister Bob Carr said the furore around the phone call dispelled any notion that Australia should tighten ties with the Trump administration or had a special relationship with America.

"It liberates leaders to say no to Washington if it seeks to recruit us for any reckless adventure," he said.

"America has taken a nationalist direction and won't be returning to global leadership as we've understood it."

"From pragmatic to pugnacious: how Donald Trump deals with Malcolm Turnbull" - Daniel Flitton

Quote
An alliance, regardless of the formalities, is a dead letter unless it is infused with political will. Can Australia trust its great and powerful friend?

Or, as James Curran puts it: "If you have this sort of tension this early in the life of the administration over relatively small beer, what will happen in the event of a major crisis?"

How does today's ruction rank? The veteran Australian diplomat Dick Woolcott, who has witnessed the entire life of the 65-year-old alliance, says that this "is right at the top of the list" of difficulties.

Because, says Woolcott, it seems to be a symptom of a fundamental problem with the US under Trump: "I don't think he much cares about US allies."

"Wake up Australia: the US alliance has never been our security 'guarantee'" - Peter Hartcher

Quote
But here's some reality for Trump: the US needs Australia, not just the other way around. He needs the network of alliances the US has carefully crafted in the post-1945 period because his country's power stems not just from its military might but its friendships.

As China and other countries develop their long-range ballistic missile capabilities - one of the most important military advances it has made - Australia's medium distance from the flashpoints of Asia will grow in importance.

"They've got up to 2500 marines in Darwin but it's more about what they could have in the future. I'm sure the
Americans are going to come to us and say we need you to do more so that means having greater access to Australia," said Malcolm Davis, a senior defence analyst and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

"If we say no to that, it severely weakens the US's ability to respond to a rising China."

"Here's some reality for Donald Trump: the US needs Australia, not just the other way around" - David Wroe

If this is how he treats our allies - what happens when he has to deal with enemies?

Well. Prior to the election he already asked why not nuke ISIS! Since he does what he said we will soon see nuclear weapons in use.

Isn't this enough for Mike Pence to declare doubt on Trumpels sanity?

A question to the US Americans here.

Is now the US ruled by a single person only with executive orders? Or do you think Trumpel will allow the senate and congress to decide and create any own decissions?
I only hear executive order here, executive order there ... even the Dodd-Frank act he removed with one, wide opening the Wall Street and bank casinos again ...
Well if a dictator wants to go to war he needs money, so he makes sure a huge financial bubble is created and so he can use that money for war. Similiar financial tricks that dictator from Austria who ruled Germany used to do that to finance WW II.

Btw. he also made sure to reduce social standards for the war production and compared to the prices the wages got smaller and smaller all the time. The working people got poorer and poorer. An other method to finance the war .... keep an eye on the pay slips of the people under Trumpel the next 4 years.

^ The United States has not declared war since WWII. Franklin Roosevelt vastly expanded presidential powers, as did Nixon, Obama and -- especially -- George W. Bush in the wake of 911.

The role of our chief executive is much more powerful than the founders intended.

Congress and the courts could reassert their power, but one is too afraid and the other is too beholden to the executive branch.

The United States is now a plutocracy. And a petrocracy (i.e. petroleum). The 10 percent control the national agenda, the economy, and soon education, and environmental safeguards.

Is it any wonder that frightened Americans reach toward fascism? Communism will be next. We've seen all this before, in the 1930s. Widespread hardship opens us up to new econo-power models. When we fear "the other" we turn toward promises of control.

Poor saps. People who are angry about "them" taking our jobs? It's not an overseas trend so much as an industrial paradigm shift, with automation replacing many, many workers.

In short, it's all about the 90 percent vs. the 10 percent. And the 10 percent are so far successfully singing a hypnotic siren song, beguiling the 90 percent to vote against their self-interest. Not only are we willing to give up control, we want to give up control -- to a more powerful father figure, a plain deal maker who will ignore all the little idiot niceties, and instead offer us vicarious strength.

Yes. Like that austrian guy did in Germany. And Germans were also weak and gave away control. And also our president back then was too powerful in what he could do. Nowadays in German the president hasn't much possiblities and we don't give him. The power shifted to the German cancellor and the parliament / the control by the 16 German states instead. Along with our constituation justice. While the german cancellor always tries to size more power, the parliament and their members are always fighting against this. Sometimes they call the constituion justice and in 95% of the cases the parliament members win.

So far I'm so glad that after WW II the allies forced us to spread the powers a lot more, create a modern constitution and removing so much power from the president.

The cover story in the March issue of The Atlantic is "How to Build an Autocracy"

Author David Frum notes how a lot of countries recently have become autocratic regimes without anyone paying attention to the process. South Africa, Venezuela, Hungary.... For Frum, an autocracy isn't necessarily a government where the innocent are persecuted; instead it's one where the guilty go unpunished because the system's checks on corruption have become too weak to be effective. The "American System" depends more on people respecting the checks and balances of the entire governmental structure rather than any concrete laws and penalties.

"Those citizens who fantasize about defying tyranny from within fortified compounds have never understood how liberty is actually threatened in a modern bureaucratic state: not by diktat and violence, but by the slow, demoralizing process of corruption and deceit. And the way that liberty must be defended is not with amateur firearms, but with an unwearying insistence upon the honesty, integrity, and professionalism of American institutions and those who lead them."

White House' hastily compiled alternative fact list of terror attacks that got undercoverage in media ...
... including:
- Nizza (seafront - truck massacre)
- Brussels (airport - bombing)
- Berlin (christmas market - truck massacre)
- Paris Bataclan (concert mass shooting)
- San Bernadino (mass shooting)
...

They really got under coverage? What does Trumpel want? That we implant idiocy into our heads day and night? How this really interfers with the mind he just need to observe with the people around him.

Ridiculous! The only reason for publishing this list is scaring US people and trying to make strong point why Trumpel needs that muslim ban from the 7 countries.
Ridiculous! He just hopes that the people he addresses for support to his case don't understand the ideologic propaganda they get presented.

They also listed clear murder cases (Australia - Queensland) or cases where murder is possible (Germany - Hamburg). How much more evidence is necessary to get the point this precidency is lying to everyone.
