1995 Buick Roadmaster, one of the last generations of the large land yachts which Detroit was known for many years but afterwards due to Federal regulations, they were put out to pasture.

Federal regulations forced these out?  I thought it was slow sales due to the lumbering anachronistic nature of these dinosaurs.

This is the 1961 Lincoln Presidential limousine in which John F Kennedy was assassinated on 22 November, 1963, about 60 years ago. I was 7 years old when it happened. Notice that no presidential limousine since is topless ever since. I was living in Mexico at the time and a neighbor said they had killed the President and initially we thought that there was another Coup d Etat in Mexico, and it was then we realized it was in the USA. I remember, my Mom, being born in Texas and a US citizen, was crying.

From my post earlier this year.  Technically, this is not called a Chrysler, as Imperial was its own marque at the time.  The ‘60 fins are just canted a bit more backwards than the ‘59.  They would get bigger for ‘61—see post 382 for a pic—so it’s not a sign of him slowly dwindling them, yet. That would come after ‘61.

By far the most popular Police car in the United States back in the late 70's was the Dodge Monaco. In 1980 the movie Blus Brothers with Dan Aykroyd and John Beslushi used a 1979 Dodge Monaco with a 440cubic inch Magnum Mopar V-8 engine as their stunt vehicle. In that movie over 100 cars were wrecked/destroyed during filming. I do remember seeing the police Dodge Monaco all over the country then regardless of geography. This one is the one used in the Blues Brothers movie.

The 1972 Chrysler Cordoba was made to compete against the Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Pontiac Grand Prix, Ford Thunderbird and others which were part of the Personal Luxury Sedan category of the time and they had Ricardo Montalban as their spokesman. I have great memories of those commercials and the shows he was involved in like Fantasy Island.
