The first movie in the series was a masterpiece. The other two, were not. I haven't watched the fourth movie. I don't think I ever will watch it.

The good news is, Star Trek 4 has been announced, and the whole gang will be back (except for the late lamented Anton Yelchin as Chekov): Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk (Capt. Kirk's dad), Zoe Saldaña as Lt. Uhura, John Cho as Sulu, Karl Urban as Dr. "Bones" McCoy, Simon Pegg as Scotty, and Zachary Quinto as Spock. Hurray!

The bad news is, apparently none of the cast knew about it beforehand!

Harrison Ford is just getting too old for the part. Temple of Doom came out 42 years ago and frankly, no one else can play his very iconic character so there is no substitution. Unlike the James Bond character, which has had different actors play the character, what made Bond durable and relevant was the fact that the character was/is a  secret agent and so there is always new material but archeology just ain't the same. My $0.02.

They should have stopped at the third one (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) as an excellent trilogy. But then they nuked the fridge in the fourth one. I have confidence in James Mangold's direction but I think (and hope) that Harrison will put down the fedora for good after this one.

The Batman is in theaters today. It is a three hour movie so if you are going to the movie house, make sure you go pee-pee and **108**-**108** beforehand.
